Hi there! Does anyone have nay idea what the weather might be like the first week in June? Two years ago we went in April and we got totally flooded out of IOA! Literally. It was pretty bad. I really hope to not experience that this time. Some places I have read that it rains almost every day in Florida (???) are we talkiing "sprinkling" or pouring showers? Thanks for any help you can give!

I was there the first week of June last year, and it rained every afternoon. Get your rain gear and keep on going!

Rain every day in June???? UGH!! I hope it doesn't ruin the whole trip. Does it just rain for a little while? Do they shut down the rides, or what? When we went two years ago and it flooded, it was almost closing time and they did close the rides (not that I was going to go on them in that storm, anyway!). Do they stop the rides then resume them once the rain stops? What does everyone do during the down time? All we did is hide in the Cat in the Hat store, then run out of there in a foot of water. Then we got a taxi and he made us sit on newspapers. Our sneakers were soaked. They take forever and a day to dry out, so next time we bring extras...and sandals (my husband insists on only wearing sneakers). I am so looking foward to this trip. We are staying at a Disney resort but not even going to Disney parks this trip...(except one). Buying annual passes to IOA. I hope we can go back before the year is up.

Okay...enough blabbing. Have a great day everyone.

PS" That ride I hear is closed...which one is it? Is it that water raft ride? I hope not---loved that one.

During the summer, Florida gets the new nickname: Liquid Sunshine State. We have the "Pop-up Thunderstorms." They occur pretty much every afternoon.

However, it is usually around 3PM when they form. That means, get your outdoor activities out of the way early in the morning! Catch the first GB Show, ride a few runs on Hulk earlier in the day, and save indoor attractions for the afternoon. Thunderstorms occur, but also don't last very long -- usually. However, shows will still be cancelled if the surroundings are wet, but rollercoasters and such should be back in operation shortly after the storm passes. :)

Thanks for the heads up. By the way, I checked out your website and you did a really great job. I was able to learn a lot just from the information you posted. Very well laid out site. I'm sure it will help a lot of people.

Hey, two years ago we stayed at a hotel across the street from Universal, but I can't remember the name. Maybe someone will know? It's a tall round building with a "Holleywood" theme. Old cars parked out front, Hollywood music on inside, etc.... we were thinking that we might look into staying there again later this summer, after our first trip (where we are staying at Port Orleans). I can't beleive I forgot the name. It wasn't spectacular, but it was okay.

Thanks...have a great day :)

Thanks, that means a lot!!! :)

BTW - not sure of the hotel you speak of...but many of those hotels across the street from Universal are nice. We've stayed at 3 or 4 different ones over there. There was one hotel that stood out though...it was insanely beautiful...and the lobby was HUGE (at least from what I could see from the windows when driving by). Don't remember what it was called though...

What does the IMHO stnd for at your website? I'm kinda clueless to all these initials everyone uses.

Okay...I just got a clue!! I just noticed where you explained that.
When you have kids you start to lose your mind a little bit. LOL

We were at WDW two years ago in June too! We just packed a whole bunch of the cheap $0.99 rain ponchos. When the rain would start we would put on our ponchos - watch about 99% of the people in the park leave - and walk right on to almost all of the rides. They only ones we ever saw get closed down were the outside coasters and some of the outside shows. Usually it was only about a 30 minute wait til everything dried out.

Just be prepared and don't let the rain slow you down!

In My Humble/Honest Opinion

I still have my raincoats I bought at IOA a couple years ago....the time it flooded really bad! I think they were like $8 each(???) what a rip-off, but better than getting soaked. My DH was the only one who wouldnt be "seen" in one so he got totally soaked.
I did look for some at the dollar store before our trip but did not find any...naturally! But, as I said, I saved the ones I bought at IOA and plan to bring them....just hope I remember! I plan to make a list of things not to forget because there are always things we forget!
