We are going to the Poly in a few weeks (January 14th to the 20th) and DW wants to know how to pack. What should be expect for temperatures in Orlando for this time of year? Will it be warm enough for shorts and tee shirts? Ant advice would be greatly welcomed. Thanks, Jay

Hi Jay,

Unfortunately, winter in Orlando is completely unpredictable. You could see daytime highs near 80 with cool mornings, or you could see mornings near freezing with afternoon temperatures stuck in the 40s. And both of those things could happen in the one week that you are there!

My advice: pack a little of everything, including gloves and shorts!

We're leaving in two weeks and here's what I figured. Even if it should happen to reach 80 degrees, it certainly won't be warm enough to start the morning off in a pair of shorts and tee shirt ... or to end the day in them ... it is January, after all! I just don't see it getting hot enough while we're there to pack shorts on top of everything else, just in case we "might" need them. Even though it's Florida it's still wintertime, and I'm sure we'll be quite comfortable wearing long pants in January.

We have seen more folks heading off "To-The-Parks" early on a January morning in shorts & short-sleeves...freezing. We nod to each other: "Yup, The Mouse is going to sell some sweats today!" Long-pants. Layered clothing (you can always keep taking it off!). And by all means rain-gear. Slickers work best. Buy them from Walmart, not The Mouse. You'll save a bundle. We have seen absolutely beautiful days in January; & we've seen days where everyone heads back-to-the-resort very early, usually soaking wet & mighty cold. Crowd size in the lobby of the WL is always a good indicator of what it's like outside!

We were there this past January ('05) and going again in 20 days! I packed everything from hats to shorts. We wore shorts everyday! One night we wore sweatshirts because it was a bit breezy on the Boardwalk. I plan on packing a bit of everything again and hoping to once again luck out. The day of the marathon it was in the low 80's.

I just posted on this in the post "need help fast? January?" which is kind of on the same idea...
See there for my opinion! :sunny:
We love January in Disneyworld!

We are leaving tommorow and packing just about everything. I keep checking the updaes on the weather, but it is all over the place  I feel like I have packed for all seasons!
