Just wondering if you were at Disney last year around the 20th of January could you tell me what the weather was like? Thanks

We came home last year on the 19th - were there from the 10th - 19th. When we first arrived it was rather cold and rainy - very windy - first few days highs in the 60s, lows in the 40s. As the weekend approached, the days started getting a little warmer - went up into the 70s - on the 19th it was pretty cold (60) and rainy again. It can be all over the place in Dec and Jan - just plan on layering - we were glad that we brought stretchy gloves and thin headbands for the few windy evenings we had (and the plastic raincover for the stroller was a Godsend ! kept baby DGrD snug as a bug!). :smooth:

a couple of years ago. It was cold, but the week warmed up nicely.

Cold rain is another story altogether!

We're leaving on January 29, and hoping for some nice, warm, sunny days!:earseek:

We've gone at the end of January for the last 4 years. You never know what you're gonna get. It has been a warm 80 and a cold mid 50's. Last year, our second day was very warm, jumped off schedule and went to BB. A few days later we were so cold at AK I wished I had my long johns. And the "cheap" strechy gloves were selling for $8. Be ready for anything, and try to make your plans flexible. We love going that time of year because we are usually missing "blizzard" weather in Ohio. We mostly wear shorts and Mickey sweatshirts!!

from 20th - 29th and are hoping for nice warm weather. Since we live in NH 60's and above would be nice but I would not complain about 70's or low 80's.

I already told my DD6 that we are goning to pack her shorts and her mittens. I rather be cool then hot but my little one and DW do not feel the same.

has historical weather for Orlando. You can changes the dates to corrospond with your trip and see what the weather has been for the last 8 years or so.

Good luck and enjoy your trip

We went in '03 and it was freezing. It was 20 degress in the mornings when we got up. We are from Maine and we couldn't get warm. It got up to 40's and 50's during the day for 5 of the 7 days. Brutal...

My daughters Bday was gorgeous (what a nice surprise), it was 30 something when we got up and got into the 70's in the mid-day. We took a very quick dip the pool midday and then started layering again.

The CMs said that we hit the cold snap and they get one every year. Hoping to not hit it again as we are going for DD Bday again this year!

We will be bringing some of everything...swimsuits, shorts, t-shirts, long sleeved shirts, pants, jackets, mittens, and hats too. The wind was so bad that I even tucked my pants into my socks. Before we left the weather channel said that it would be highs in the 70's and lows in the 40-50 range. I figured we'd be fine...

Wish us warmth this time... Please!

you are getting me scared now. Gotta ask you are you origanally from Maine? Or a transplant....lol ok ok I'm sorry.

No really if you are from Miane and you folks were cold that is not a good sign to me. Let us hope that it will be warmer there then back in the northeast while we are gone.

What part of Maine you folks from?

We live on the seacoast of NH

Here is wishinf you pixie dust and warm weather

No matter what, I'm pretty sure it will be warmer than the NE - even though a few nights got down into the low 40s - when we left home it was 13 DEGREES !!! Our plane was delayed by over an hour because it took so long to get it warmed up and running !! - 60s in the daytime (in comparison) was delightful ! :smooth:

We didn't do any swimming, but I still went down to the hot tub! (there were always a few hardy souls - and kids - in the pools, though)! :sunny:

Goofydad - thanks for the weather link - I've never seen that site and it's great !

no prob bjakmom

I got it off a post on this site last month. I am not really worried, my wife gets cold easier then I do, I ice fish and if that is not a freezing (also stupid) activity nothing is. My dd6 will stay in the pool unitl blus and shivering and still claim not to be cold, so as long as she is having fun she will not complain.

We'll be fine and we'll will pack warm clothes as well as shorts tee shirts etc. it will be easier to pick up extra tee shirts and shorts there then the warm stuff, besides all the more reason to buy souvineers I mean clothes while there.

Looks likw we are going atthe same time AND staying at the same hotel

Have to give each other a

Where are you fling from?

See you there

If you are renting a car, don't forget a windshield scraper.
We had to use a coat hanger in January 2002.

I am a wimpy girl when it comes to weather. Please everyone wish for a heat wave! It was 58 here today, and that seemed nippy to me. I was in jeans and a sweater so at WDW I would need more layers. I was only outside long enough to go from the door to the car! On the other hand, it POURED rain all day so it was very cloudy and wet. I wonder if 58 would feel different on a sunny day? Monday when it poured rain and was 66 I thought I could almost stand to go to WDW in the rain as long as I had a poncho. Unfortunately from the weather site it appears that the temps in mid-January are more like 40's - 60's. When I asked about weather when I made my reservations they told me 50's-70's. I think 10 degrees can make a huge difference in some cases. Like the difference between 52 and 62 would be absolutely noticable to me. Anything lower than 52 and it is just plain cold!!

Born in Mass, moved to Maine in 1977. Is that long enuf? We live just north of Portland, about 20 minutes.

We are keeping our fingers crossed from warm weather this year. DH did his basic training in the winter in Florida back in the late '70's and he warned me about how cold it can get. He was right!

Honestly, we just want less people. We went in Sept/Oct for 16 days and it was so crowded. We don't spend much time in the parks, we just wander around the entire resort (visiting other hotels and just enjoy our vacation), but evey time we went to the parks, it was so crazy busy. So we decided to try January again. Just hoping that the days are warm and the evenings and mornings are bearable...

I will say the day before Hurrican Jeanne and the day after, the parks were wonderful! But, I don't wish that on anyone... 30 hours in a hotel room was enuf for us too!

I am flying 1 daughter here from Portland ME and 1 daughter from Springfield MO. Jan 15. They are both in their 20's and my husband and I are taking them to Disney for the 1st time. My daughter from ME loves the cold and the snow so she shouldn't mind 50 degree weather. I am hoping for 60 or 70 degrees myself.:earsgirl:

Always hoping for warm weather when we visit WDW! I think our blood has thinned since we started taking our 2 week trips in Sept each year! Both DH and i have terrible arthritis in our knees and the warmth feels so good!

Our problem with the cold weather in Fl is that it is so damp! It just goes right into your bones... Kinda like Maine now! DH can't wait to go and be warm again! And he was born here and lived here his whole life!

My kids still love the winters here though... sledding and building snowforts.... It just isn't as much fun after you have shoveled for hours after a snowstorm when you are an adult! LOL

Hope you have a great visit with your DDs --- Christopher Robin 26

My family was at WDW in January 2004, for a week over the MLK holiday. We arrived the day before MLK day on Sunday. We had one day with drizzle, otherwise it was sunshine all the way. The daytime temps hovered around 68-70 degrees. The mornings were VERY cool (sweatshirt/jeans weather). We spent late afternoons by the pool, and it was not too cold to swim. This is the third time our family has been to WDW in late January, and we love this time of year!
