Hi!

We just booked a trip for the second week of Feb,:cool1: ! It has been years since I have done a Feb. trip. We have a 4 month old and a 4 year old. Will we need shorts? What is the weather like? I know we will need rain gear. Any other suggestions.

TIA
Ashley :goodvibes

Congrats on booking your trip!!

We are going 2/5-2/12, and our plans are to pack mostly t-shirts & jeans/khakis. We'll pack a bathing suit and maybe one pair of shorts, and definitely bringing a sweatshirt for the early am or evenings when it gets cool.

I've been watching the weather these past few weeks and its been hovering in the 70-80 degree range for the most part. Can't wait until a little further on in January to really get an idea of the weather!

We are going to be there Feb 5-15 and I am planning on taking capri pants I think I am warm most of the time I will probably take pants for my family they are cold
Might throw in a pair of shorts as you said and bathing suits just in case. We are so ready to go.

We have gone in early February for the past two years, and my best advice to bring a little bit of everything. (I know, a lot easier said than done, considering all the new baggage requirements, but still . . .) The first year we went, we definitely needed at least light jackets in the morning. By afternoon shorts were fine. Last year it was a heat wave - sweating by 10:00 a.m. I've had others tell me that when they've gone in February they actually needed heavy coats, hats and mittens when out for the nighttime festivities.

Have a great time! :-)

I went in Feb. a couple of years ago. The first part of the week it was VERY WARM, shorts and t-shirts were all that was needed. By the end of the week, it switched and long pants and sweatshirts were the way to go. I saw a lot of unprepared people shivering the day it switched. Moral of the story, keep your eye on the forecast for highs and lows and I would be prepared for all kinds of weather as PP mentioned. :goodvibes

Oh, and one time I went in Feb. as a little girl and we did need our hats, mittens etc...

I would definitely bring the bathing suit and at least a couple of pairs of shorts for the kids. There are some days that we were sweating in February. When the boys were younger, I would have them wear lightweight wind pants and wind breakers in the morning because there is a lot of fog and dew in the air. Once that burns off, it often gets warm and sunny. The kids quickly change out of their pants in the rest room and put on some shorts. Shorts and wind pants don't take up much room in back pack and it is worth it to carry it around the parks so that everyone is comfortable.

Ah, the weather in February is great. I wear shorts, but some of my friends wore jeans and they didn't complain. It doesn't rain much during the winter, but you might pack cheap ponchos just in case.

Have fun!
