I am having a hard time deciding when to go to WDW. Can anyone help me w/ the weather and crowds during the first 2 weeks of Feb.? I am currently booked for May which we love that time of year the weather is perfect but it's also my DH "BUSY" time at work. I don't know what to do. Is the weather warm enough to go in the pool? Please help me!!! Thanks!

Hi Milmore,

Crowds are usually light in Febraury except for President's Day weekend and most of the rest of that week.

Weather is very unpredictable and changeable. We've seen daytime temps in the low 50s and low 80s, and morning lows in the upper 30s and the 50s, all on the same trip!! You'll need to bring sweatshirts and long pants and if you're lucky you'll only need them first thing in the morning.

Resort pools are heated, but the air sometimes isn't!!

Good luck,

Bob

we used to live in Jacksonville (FL) and since we've moved we still go down in February every year...crowds are great (meaning really not a lot of them) weather is usually mid 70's, though we have had days where we wake up and its in the 30's (only once) and days where its gotten up to mid 80's. Perfect for doing the parks, though not a guarantee for sunbathing. But disney pools are heated, just bring along a nice terry robe for the kiddies for when they get out of the pool. You will need some sort of sweatshirt/polar fleece for evenings and first thing in the morning but its rare that we kept it on past 10AM. Avoid presidents weekend if you can.

Thanks for the help! Is the weather in FEb. like the weather in late Dec. I have visited during Dec. and the weather was nice but not that warm! A lot nicer than 30 below zero at home!!!! Thanks

We went to WDW the last two Febs. The first year was perfevt and in the low 70's. This year we froze. We are from New England and we still froze. It was very raw and overcast. We will not go again in Feb. Our last trip was a bummer. We might try Nov. next time. It seemed to be unseasonably cold there in Jan as well. I think it is hit or miss.

Hi again Milmore,

That's just too much of a generalization...it could be cold in December and warmer in February, or mild in December and freezing in Febraury. There's really no way of knowing what Orlando winter weather will be like until about a week ahead of time.

We've been in both Feb and December, and in both cases we got a couple of warm days and a couple of cold days on the same trip.

The few times we went in February reminded me of a NH Fall: Warm enough to swim during the day, but chilly enough for a sweatshirt at night. I heard this past February it was very chilly. :cold:

We went the 3rd week of Feb and it was cold in the morning and night. And it was okay during the day time. We were wearing our capri and brought our sweater and light jackets. It gets pretty cold in some of the inside attractions.

The kids doesn't mind the cold water. Though it is heated, it is not warm enough for me to swim in it. When the kids are done in the pool, we would go in the jacuzzi, so I can relax and enjoy the warm water.

The pool at the WL was just about empty. You could almost swim there butt naked and no one will know... but of course I wouldn't recommend it. ;) Some of the kids and their parents were in the hot tub.

We try not to do value resorts during winter cause if it is too cold to swim, at least the moderate and the deluxe would have the jacuzzi... and this is very important to me or I will not enjoy the resort without getting myself in the hot tub.
