Just wondering if anyone has been on the 4 day cruise in December? Unfortunately that is the only time my DH can take time off. What is there to do at Castaway Cay etc. if it is too cold to swim?

We loved CC on our 12/4 cruise & are going back on the 12/10 this year. We got in the water & it was warm enough to enjoy the beach day. Once we left PC the weather was warm & balmy...and sometimes hot!

We were there on Dec 26th.

While the water was too cool, the sun was great.

We/I fished (Gorgeous, and caught lots).

Parasailed.

Ate.

Drank beer by the bucket (Thanks Greg).

Ate some more.

Shopped.

lounged on the beach.

I've had varied luck in December. More than once it has been cloudy, rainy and in the 60s on Castaway Cay. I really only remember ONE time when the day was sunny. The water was cold (for me) no matter what.

It's just one of those things you can't predict...you may luck out, or you may have the kind of weather we have generally had on Castaway Cay in early December.

we loved our lone cruise we took in December.....If you cruise first 2 weeks of december, you get great weather, great pricing, and the ship is beautifully decorated for the holidays.....very festive

We cruised the last 2 years at the beginning of December, around the 3rd.

While it was too cool to swim in the hotel swimming pool the night before our cruise, it was beautiful at CC, Nasau and once we stopped in Freeport.

The water is cool at first, but you warm up quickly, not like the ocean up here in the NE, where when the water is cool, you don't warm.

The skies were sunny, people were getting suntanned.

Bring a jacket because the dining places are air conditioned.

:sunny:
