We are about to finalize our cruise for Christmas 2005. I am curious about the weather. Are the seas rough? Is it cool? Will we be wearing shorts? Stuipd questions, I know!

I'd like to know the answer to this, too.

We did a Christmas cruise in 1999, and the weather was wonderful. We wore shorts during the day, but often needed a light jacket or sweater in the evenings. Some nights, it was quite windy on deck, too.

But we snorkeled during the day and swam everywhere.

I love December weather in Florida and further south because it isn't so hot, though.

MarcyIn Florida;

Thanks for the info. Hving spent every Christmas of my life in NJ, it's hard to imagine what it's like anywhere else!!

All three times I have cruised have been in early December. Last year we stayed at AKL Nov. 28-Dec. 03 and there were days where it was down-right cold (Jeans and Jackets at the parks...keeping in mind we are from Southern Ca, so cold to us is 50-ish degrees). Each time in Nassau has been shorts weather and warm enough at CC to go swimming comfortably. Evenings were always comfortable in trousers and short sleeve shirts. The great thing about December is that the humidity is much lower than the rest of the year, and that makes it very pleasent.

This answer is going to be different depending on your itenerary. The Wonder only goes to Nassau/Bahamas, which is much farther north than either Magic itenerary. I'm guessing that the answers given were for the Wonder.

I checked some of the average temperatures for our 12/18 10 day cruise, and most of the caribbean ports average in the 80s during December. The Bahamas were more in the 70s.

we have done both the Eastern and the Western in December several times, The weather was perfect in the Caribbean ports, only once was Castaway Cay chilly. Compared to home in MA. it was similar to August weather and the one cold time at CC it was still about April weather.
