Weather in December

Can you please answer a question from a Brit who may go to Discovery Cove in December.

Is the weather warm enough to enjoy DC or should we save it for another visit?

It is hard to predict the weather in December. I know that we have had 40 degree weather one day and then the next day it is 80 degrees.
