thinking on booking up in xmas.whats the weather like ?is it to cold to swim?what are the crowds like?

The weather often in December is cool but sunny, I would be surprised if it wasn't on the cold side in the morning's and evening's.
Having said that the weather generally is proving harder to predict, so you could perhaps see temps. in the low 70s perhaps.

Crowds build through the month, first 2 weeks aren't too bad but later on is one of the busiest times of the year.

I was there last Christmas and most days it was hot, easily warm enough to swim and sunbathe. It did get a little cooler in the eves but we only needed a jumper. :goodvibes

You get a bit of everything - a bit like the British summer :rotfl:

Last year we were there from 10th -27th Dec and overall the weather was really good: not too warm for the parks but certainly warm enough to swim. The mornings were chilly, as were the evenings but a fleece and a pair of jeans was all that was required at worst.

Personally I think it is the best time of year to go - great decorations at all the resort hotels/parks along with a wonderful Christmas atmosphere :santa:

We were there this year from the 29th Nov to the 19th December and most days were pretty warm! Mostly shorts and TShirt weather but we did have one or two days that were a bit colder! Needed something a little warmer in the evenings as it did get chilli once the sun went down!

The crowds were virtually non existant in my first 2 weeks, once we got back from the cruise it was packed! We went to the MK on our last day and there was a 3 hour queue for a few of the rides!

It is a lovely time to go, the decorations are gorgeous! and theres special events going on! My favorite time of year there! Although i am bias LOL

hi
dont know who your thinking of going with...but i booked 17-31 dec all stars sports 2 adult and 2 children monday with expedia flying with virgin for .....wait for it.....the stupidly cheap price of £1800...:cheer2: .
so if you do decide to go over xmas expedias holiday works out at under half the price on virgin and at £2500 cheaper than the flight alone..

Sometimes it's absolutely baking and others it's freezing. We have been in shorts and T's and other times trousers, 2 jumpers, fleece, gloves and a hat!
Prepare for everything that's my advice.

We go every Nov/Dec time and the weather is fine.
The funny thing is that the Floridians find it a little cold, wearing jumpers, long trousers and coats and all the Brits are walking around in T-Shirts and shorts!!

It gets cool in the evening, so take a sweat or jumper with you

Think you need to hear both sides...
we have always been in the summer months and love it however friends of ours went in December 2 or 3 years ago and it was freezing.
They couldn't swim and couldn't even wear shorts...had to go shopping for more clothes to keep warm. I do think that year was particularly cold though. Do take some warm comfy clothes just in case.
Personally I would love it whatever the weather, I think they were a little niave thinking it would be hot. Be prepared and I am sure you will enjoy it whatever.
We're having to go summer school holidays for the first time next year, normally go May June time, it'll probably be too hot for me then.

It sounds like your friends may have been there the December we were ;)

Out of 23 nights there were only 3 or maybe 4 days were it was comfortable in shorts. The plus side was that there was only us and about ten other people in Blizzard Beach :teeth:

It was freezing for a week of our stay, with the Disney CMs wrapping all the shrubs overnight, and the car had a sheet of ice on it :scared1:

Having said that I believe we were very unlucky and lots of people love December for its mild climate.

I think we went that year too!! Was it 2002? We had to go out and buy thicker jumpers!

Weather aside it is a magical time of year to visit!
