hi- we are flying on june 26th- ive heard hurricane reports, does anybody know if this is going to be around then? or gone? is it likely to be bad weather ALL the time, i know there are no accurate answers, but do you think the weather will be pretty grim- or maybe just a daily short shower etc...im wondering if we should rethink and go another time? its our holiday of a lifetime we dont want it spoint by awful weather- we are going to have a week at the gulf coast too- thought it would be too early for a bad hurricane when we booked it!!

T.S Alberto is expending itself over Nova Scotia at the moment and will not cause anyone other than fishermen any problems. This is from Weather.com:
"Elsewhere the tropics are relatively quiet in the Atlantic with easterly waves in the central Caribbean and 1000 miles east of the Windward Islands, both with minimal convection. " In other words, all's quiet.

Looks to be a great time for a trip to Florida :beach: Don't be afraid of hurricanes. The season runs from June to November--it's very early in the season yet. The chances that you will run into trouble are small. Hurricanes give you a lot of warning so you'll have time to get out or hunker down. The main thing you need to prepare for is the heat & hydration! Sunscreen, water and a big hat :thumbsup2

Have fun

We left for DW on June 26th last year, oh, how I envy you!!!

We had one day showery all day, but pop up thunder showers most afternoon while there. Keep the ponchos handy. Very hot and humid the whole time.

Yes, the hurricane prediction is high again this year, but there are GENERALLY fewer BAD storms at the beginning of the season.

Best wishes on a safe trip.

You might want to also check out some of our local stations:

Local 6

WESH

The first one is our CBS station; the second is NBC. Both have downloadable Hurricane survival guides, if you feel the need.

Have a great trip!
