I know this can change but here is what I saw:

1/9 = high of 70 degrees low of 45 mostly cloudy
1/10 = 69/44 ditto
1/11= 72/53 ditto
1/12= 70/48 ditto -

So as of now all four days will be cloudy BUT we know what weather is like!

In the meantime the mornings are going to be COLD from what it looks like now...so make sure to pack some VERY warm clothing to wear while waiting for the race to start that you can toss to the side of the road...and it will be donated to charities.

I for one saved one of my aluminum wraps from another race I will take with me...if I don't forget to pack it.

Not only CAN the forecast change, but it WILL change...several times. Right now, all they pretty much do is forecast the average temps for the area when it's that far out. Last year was the same. They forecasted temps around 70 degrees, then as we got closer and closer to race weekend, the temps kept creeping up. As you know, the temps ended up being great for vacationers, but horrifying for runners!

I look at these forecasts too and think to myself, ahhh, this would be wonderful for race day. Crossing my fingers that it ends up pretty average temps for race weekend.

It's 67F outside, 74F in my house right now and I just knocked off a hot chocolate.

Really do hope things cool down for EVERYBODY.

We're all better off worrying about the things we can control (rest, taper, health, mental attitude) than the things we can't (weather, buses, other people in our corrals). I know, I know, it's much more enjoyable to fuss about the weather than our mental preparation for the race(s), but only one of those options makes any difference in the end. :)

I know things are getting down to the wire when the discussion starts focusing on the weather. Anxiety creeping in for me....

I don't even look until about 10 days out, and I know that's even a stretch and a week is more realistic in terms of any level of actual prediction. I do need to pick up a sweatshirt or something to toss away, though. I don't have any on hand that I want to get rid of.

We will see how these numbers change within the next week and a half.

I don't remember what the forecast was LAST year but I do remember it was hot as hell! I think the hottest day was saved for the full marathon.

But I know the weather...and the weatherman/woman...they seem to like to change their minds often. We can see these numbers change daily and who knows what we really end up with popcorn::

Living in South Florida I'm probably more used to the heat than most of the runners and while I agree last year was warm it wasn't that bad,the first half of the race was actually pretty cool.I remember another runner on World Dr commenting to me that it felt like they turned on the A/C as some winds came in and it felt like the temperatures dropped 10 degrees.By Animal Kingdom it did start getting warm.I think the official high on Saturday for the 2013 half was 83 degrees and Sunday was 81 degrees,a lot of posts on here claim mid 80's but I don't think it got that warm.I don't like it hot but I'm not used to 30's either so a low of 47 with highs in the 65-69 range would be ideal for me.

Prior to the actual races, I have tee times at Bay Hill, the Palm, and the Magnolia. I'm fine with temps being a little warmer for the week.

Well, here it is a little less than 24 hours from yesterday and the temperature is 68F outside and 75F in the house. Getting ready for a 60 mile bicycle ride then a short jog after. Should be around 80F by noon.

Really do hope things cool down for EVERYBODY.

Just think, in 2 weeks we'll be doing the Donald. :thumbsup2

I actually love that forecast! I'll be happy with anything high 40s - low 70s as long it doesn't rain.

Sooo tired of running in cold and snow in the snowiest large city in the USA, Syracuse. Will be glad to run in the florida warmth. I do it in July on my summer trips to Disney.
Wear a tank top, shorts and low cut socks and most years you are quite cold in the corals, of course some years are warmer than others. It helps too if you are in one of the first corals and run the 26.2 in shorter time. I should be off the course by 9:30am which will be only about an hour in the warm temps. Fine by me. Although watching the last few walk thru the heat by the beach club resort while in the pool I can sympathize. I'll be prepared for any weather clothing and mentally wise.

BTW I am a meteorologist so I find these weather threads amusing to follow :)

Yes low humidity.
I would rather it not rain at all...though I have done races in pouring rain...I just don't want that to happen in a Disney race.
No lightening.

I live in FL and have gotten used to training in the heat; however, I prefer and do much better with temps in the mid 40s-low 50s with a low dew point....somewhat rare here. I've run the Goofy in miserable heat and a few years ago when it was sleeting so it can be somewhat unpredictable.

Although it's way too soon to tell, I hope the prediction gets a little cooler & ditto on the no rain...that's the worst.

Less than 2 weeks to go! pixiedust:

Just got back in, got out at 0345 with 73F and humid changed to 73F and RAIN!

Hope it's not a harbinger of things to come, but if so, I'm ready. Even woke up before the alarm went off. Piece of cake.

Good for you! I just got off work, and I'm pooped, so going to bed and running later.

But wanted to say hi, and I figured your response to weather would be "warm with a chance of flurries." :rotfl:

Also...so sorry I must have missed you at IMF. Was in PCB cheering on a bunch of people and totally zoned out that you were racing. Congrats.:cool1:

:lmao:-chance of flurries

Thank you!!! It was AWESOME and looking to chop off tons of time next year. This time last year I could only get about 1200 yards swimming before pain put a halt to it and now 2,500 to 3,000 yards are a nice swim. Been biking with some unreal younger strong riders. Yesterday's 62 miles just a spin around the towns. Dopey in 2 weeks with the Celebration Marathon following will be a cool way to start the new year. Going to make my 64th year the best so far.

Kathy is embroidering a "McFlurry John" flap to hang down from the back of my running cap. Helps to cover my neck preventing SUNBURN when the Florida sun start a-shining.

Stay well and Happy New Year
