Weather Dec. 18-23

My husband and I are considering going to WDW Dec. 18-23 of this year. We know we need to make our mind up soon and one of the biggest factors for me is the weather. I've read that the average temp is around 70 degrees in December. I also realize this would be later December and am wondering if anyone can tell me what temps they experienced perhaps last year around the same time. We went in November 2002 and had an extremely cold end to our trip so I'm aware there are no guarantees. I also know it was an extremely unusual stretch of weather that November. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

You've hit it right on the head...there are no guarantees when it comes to winter weather in Orlando! You could have days around 80 with cool mornings or you could have mornings near freezing with highs near 50. And both of those could happen in the same five day period!

For example: on December 22, 2004 the high was 78 and the morning low was 48. Just two days earlier, December 20, 2004, the high was 53 and the low was 37!!!

The only way to know what the weather will be like from December 18-23, 2005 is to check the local Orlando forecasts a few days before you leave. You'll probably have to pack a little of everything just in case.

Be sure to check weather.com beginning 7 days prior to your vacation. As the previous poster said, weather in December can be VERY unpredictable, so be sure to check.

Hey! We are going then, too.

Where are you from in Michigan? We lived in Grand Rapids for 9 years.

When we were at WDW three years ago, same time, the weather was chilly in the morning and warmer as the day went on.
We rented a locker for our coats. It is such a wonderful time of year.

We were there last year. Mid dec, and it was COLD. Make sure you bring extra warm clothes just in case. Because they don"t have alot of warm clothes in Disney and the things they do have cost lots $.

We will be there too! It was not too bad first thing in the morning, but as the day drags on, the lines get longer!

Have been to Orlando 8 times in December since 1980. No two times have been alike. Almost froze in MK in 1980. High temp that day was like 39. Several years later we swam in December. Leaving Dec 4 for AKL and can't wait. Bringing a little bit of everything, but definitly jacket and gloves, just in case. Hope you have a great trip. I can't Wait!!!!

WE also will be at mvmcp on Dec 20th, Last year when we went it was freezing, But we were prepared, We had long sleeve shirts, sweat****s hats and gloves, Better to bring all,cause you can always get a locker.
