weather crowds early March

I'm taking my oldest on a surprise trip and wondering what to expect early march as far as weather and crowds. Thanks!

..and while the weather was beautiful the crowds were not. That being said, alot will depend on the Spring Break schedule of various school districts. We are going back again this year at exactly the same time and have heard that the Orlando area will be on break during that time. Unfortunately, these dates are non negotiable for us (I have a medical conference) . However, WDW crowded is still WDW. By the way, I am talking about average to slightly higher than average waits.

The first week of March is not too bad for crowds. The crowds tend to build each week after that. We also went 3/9-3/14 in 2002 and the crowds were large but not over crowded. The weather can range from the 50's to the 80's in early March so be prepared. We are going back 3/13-3/19 in 2004.

My partner and I will be in the world from March 7th -14th and were wondering the same things! We are U. of Maine students and our Spring Break is very early this year (March 1-14th). I REALLY hope this isn't a trend for the rest of the country. We'll see!

Toronto and I think most of Canada's Elementary and High School have spring break on the week of March 14 - 20. I wish Disney would recognize that March is a popular month and have theme parks open longer like President's week in February. Disney doesn't forget to change the resort rates to Peak in March though!!

Would you recommend going the last part of Feb. to the first week of March? What is the weather and crowds like during that time? I am trying to plan a trip, for 6 of us to go about that time frame.

IMHO the number of schools on Spring Break is good indicator of the size of crowds after New Years.

It would seem that crowds would be less on the last week of Feb and first week of March, than the rest of March and April. However, the weather will be cooler, but it is plenty warm for us Canadians.

In Februrary, when we were staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and in the evening our family went swimming, the Life Guard at the top of the slide had a coat and gloves on. She said "Where are you all from?"
"Why Toronto Canada" we said
"Figures!" was her response.
It was a balmy 60 degrees.
