Good morning all. I’m starting to plan our family trip for early 2010. Right now my wife, boy (4 ½ in early 2010), little girl (2 ¼ in early 2010) and I are looking at April and May. Deal-wise, weather-wise and crowd-wise how are those months? Are there any weeks in particular during this time frame that I should stay away from?

Also…when will Disney open up the calendar for early 2010? And when it does open are promotions and deals easy to find or are those normal to be had closer to the date.

Thanks…I can’t wait to book this. My little boy has been asking me once a week when he could go back again…he was there when he was 2 ¼.

Hi,

Plug your dates in here to see exactly what you can expect weather-wise:

Park hours are posted three months in advance, so expect April 2010 hours around New Year's Day and May hours around February 1.

The first two or three weeks of April are pretty crowded (next year Easter is April 4, so that particular week will be VERY crowded). Once you get to the last week of April and the first three weeks of May (Before Memorial Day) crowds are moderate, maybe even on the lower side of moderate.

If you keep checking here on the DIS (especially the Theme Parks board) you will be among the first to know about special deals.

Have fun planning!

Go to the Theme park boards and check out the threads on crowds right now. This week they have closed MK twice due to crowd volume. Around Spring Break and Easter it can be a bit crazy. If you go before President's Day you will do well crowd wise. We are going the last week in April and seems to be looking good so far crowd prediction wise. We got a 4/3 deal for our trip. We originally booked a AAA room only discount, but when they came out with the stay 4 get 3 free deal we saved about $1,000 over the original cost. Watch for the offers, the resort boards (there is a special codes/rates section) will have codes and new offers and such on there. Weather will be cooler in January/February and we are expecting it to be much warmer end of April beginning of May. Good luck.

Thank you sooooo much I've been going crazy looking for the weather in late july, now i have an idea of what to expect.

We always travel to WDW the first 2 weeks of May. Weather is, for the most part, beautiful. Definitely shorts weather and hot enough to enjoy the water parks and pools. Crowds are very moderate. Longest wait we had in 2008 was 50 minutes for Peter Pans Flight and that was an anomaly. Everything else was less than 15 minutes.
