Am considering a DL trip in January of next year, but can't seem to get to the bookstore and buy the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland. So I have several questions I hope you guys can help me with......

1. What is the weather at Disneyland in Anaheim in January? Not sure how warm it will be (or if it will be warm at all?)

2. What other attractions are nearby? How far is Universal, any water parks near by (though the waterpark question may be moot depending on the answer to question 1).

3. Are king beds available at any of the DL hotels? We're DVC members, and will want to use our points for our trip, so need info on the Disney hotels only.

Thanks for your help!!

Weather in January varies by year. Two years ago, it was nice and warm. Last year it was raining buckets. We don't normally get a ton of rain, so weather should be fairly mild.

Other attractions: Knott's Berry Farm is close. Universal is about 30 miles, which can be prohibitive if you go during rush hour. Knott's has a water park, Soak City, but I think it (and the other local water parks) are usually closed that time of year.

Can't help with the room info, but I'm sure someone else will be able to!

1. Weather--the word unpredictable is good. I've seen Januarys where we didn't get a drop of rain and others (like this last one) where it did nothing but rain. Generally the temps will be somewhere in the 60s for a high, though we can get into the 70s or even 80s in January, or it could drop down into the 50s for the high. Lows will be rather chilly (ok, that's a matter of opinion depending on where you're from) and probably be 50s or less (usually 40s).

2. Knott's is the closests park to DL. Universal is about an hour to 90 minutes (depending on traffic) to the north. Like the PP said, water parks aren't open in January.

3. Can't help on this one.

We were there in December and thought the temperature mild during the day (one day it was hot enough tio just wear tee-shirts) but it got very cool as soon as the sun went down. After abiout 5PM it was sweaters and jackets.

It rained lightly on one day, but we were so lucky - in January it rained so much all the roads and hills collapsed! I'm told this was pretty unique though.

This climate average page at weatherchannel http://www.weather.com/activities/o...monthly-graph.html?locid=USCA0027&from=search shows what you can expect most years.
