Weather after Thanksgiving?

I think we're headed down to WDW the week after Thanksgiving (Nov. 30 - Dec. 4) so we can take advantage of the value season. What is the weather like at this time of year? I'd like for my family to be able to swim (it will be the first trip for 4 of them).
Thanks for your help!

We were there for 12 days this past Thanksgiving. We came home on Dec. 4th. The temps were in the mid 80's when we got there and the day we left they were in the low 60's. We got a lot of swimming in. Just be prepared for any type of weather. We wore shorts and t-shirts during the day and put a sweatshirt on in the evenings. A couple of evenings we wished we had long pants on. All in all, we could have swam every day except for the day we left. Have fun. It is a great time to go.

When I went in 2002, they were experiencing a cold snap (wore sweatshirt, pants, & glovesin the morning & evening). Being from NE, I already had these items, but I found many people standing around freezing in shorts & t-shirts, then dashing to the stores to buy warmer clothing for their entire family.

When I went in 2003, it was cool in the morning & evening but during the day I was in a short-sleeved shirt & shorts and swam every day.

I'd go prepared for either side of the weather coin. Bring some lighter clothing, but also bring (or wear) a long sleeved shirt, sweatshirt & gloves. You just never know & better safe than sorry.

The last 3-4 times we have gone that week, going that week this year too. I don't recall swimming. I do recall buying sweatshirts and hearing the news talk about a frost alert.

But I guess you never know, be prepared for both, that's what we are going to do.

Yes, the weather can fluctuate at that time of year! We went last year at the beginning of Dec and we hit that cold snap Eeyore's Queen referred to. The week before and after we were there, it was 80 degrees! We really wanted to go swimming, but we just couldn't do it, even being from cold upstate NY.

In the parks, we did try to wear shorts one day, but ended up changing mid-afternoon. Our day at Epcot we wore fleece jackets and scarves (we were prepared for the Christmas Party!) and still wish we had another layer. But like I said, it was hot the week before and after, so who knows - just be prepared so you can enjoy your trip!

I'd go again at that time of the year for the decorations and festive mood!
Have fun! :sunny:

I'd strongly advise you to bring hats and gloves, just in case. If a cold snap hits while you're at Disney, here's what I've seen happen-Disney brings out hats and gloves and charges a high price (even high by Disney standards!) But everyone's freezing, so sooner or later, they break down and say they'll pay the money. Then everywhere sells out-as your hands turn blue, you'd pay any amount of money if only they'd find more of those $10 gloves to sell (you know, the ones you'd looked at before and said "No way am I paying that amount of money-I've got about 4 pair at home, that I paid about $2.50/pair for).
