I know certain places have *business casual/smart casual dress* (V&A's, Coral Reef, Narcoossee's, Shula's, Cali Grill, am I missing any?)

but

are there any other restaurants where you feel wearing shorts/jeans/capris/t-shirts is *NOT* acceptable attire?

Where? :listen:

Thanks!

Officially, except for Victoria and Albert, there are no restaurants with a formal dress code. Park Casual is the accepted mode of dress. As a general rule this tends to mean no swimsuits and, at the non-park restaurants, no men with "muscle shirts".

Certain restaurants (such as CG, Narcoossee's and Bistro de Paris), which put on an upscale showing, say that "Business Casual" is recommended, but I have never heard of people neatly dressed with T-Shirt, jeans shorts and sandals being turned away.

I think this is especially true as there are people who are coming directly from a park (or, in the case of Bistro are in a park) who cannot change. Let's say someone without a car was staying at AKL, was at MK, and had a reservation at Narcoossee's. Two choices. One is to get the yacht from MK to GF, which lets them off almost at the door to Narcoossee's - Time about 15 minutes. Otherwise Otherwise bus back to AKL, get to room to change (possibly showering first), bus back to MK and the boat to GF - Time over an hour.

Bill Gates, is that you?

Shorts are perfectly acceptable at ALL of the restaurants you mentioned, except V&A. Don't be bamboozled into thinking otherwise!!!
IF YOU personally feel uncomfortable in shorts--wear long pants. But you certainly don't HAVE to, in spite of the "business casual" code.
The key word--casual!!!

Remember: WDW is in Florida. It's hot and very humid most of the year. Nice shorts are absolutely fine just about everywhere.

I have worn shorts in the Coral Reef before. And a ton of other people around me were wearing shorts too.

DW and I will be celebrating her birthday on Monday, 8/22 with a dinner at Jiko. We're staying at AKL, and we'll also be going to AK that day, so it wouldn't be impossible to go back to the room and change into nicer clothes, but we'd both prefer to wear some shorts, as it will be late August.

Will this be acceptable?

Thanks!

Very acceptable.....I have worn shorts there before, and at Coral Reef and been among the majority of people eating there. I would not bother going back to the room to change, unless you really want too...In August it will be HOT and most people will be in their park wear still.... :sunny:

We ate a Yachtsmans Steakhouse a couple of years ago in early October when the weather was still fairly hot (mid/high 80's) and planned to go to Epcot afterwards. When I made the PS, they said the dress code was no tank tops, no beachwear. I asked about shorts, they said OK as long as it's not beachwear. I wore a pair of cotton shorts and a jersey top and was perfectly comfortable.

Thanks guys, you made me feel better! I didn't want to drag everyone back to Pop just to change clothes to eat at Narcoossee's. I think we'll wear khaki shorts, nice shirts and sandals to the parks that day and then head over. Like Cheshire Figment said, that's wasting at least an hour and with kids I'd have to allow at least 2 hours :sad2:

Shorts are acceptable at Jiko. Although, we were nice shorts with collared polos.

Shorts are fine in Narcoosees, CA Grill and Coral Reef.

Of course you are correct on V&A and Shulas.

Okay, shorts and a nice shirt is fine in Coral Reef. Does that mean that jeans would be fine too? I never wear shorts -- my legs are just too white.

Thanks!!!

coral reef is in the park.. it would be fine
