So who wears lime green at Disney? I am looking for some in my summer stuff!
Have you met other people from the forums by wearing the lime green?
Does this apply at Universal too?

This last trip I did end up meeting someone from the board (two people actually) but it didnt have to do with lime green. LOL I knew to look for three ECVs and a woman so if you can believe it, there were two different groups of three ECVs and woman directing them. LOL The first group I approached wasn't the person I was looking for, but......she was from the DIS! :wave2: So that was a nice surprise (believe it was Nadine and Joe?) and the 2nd group I approached was Jennymouse (?) the one I was looking for and she was wearing a Dis button on her fanny pouch, but I didnt notice it until she pointed it out.

But in a lime green related sighting.......I saw a guide dog (Newley) with lime green ribbons tied on his handle/leash but I was too shy to approach and I should have darnnit! :wave2: And the dog seemed very busy doing his job and I didn't want to intrude since most of the times I saw him was at the food court.

I was out shopping this past weekend and saw ALOT of lime green clothes so if you were going to do lime green to id yourself as Dis, I would probably tie a ribbon your pocket or get a DIS pin to wear. I wouldn't approach a person wearing lime green clothes, but I would approach a person wearing a lime green ribbon or button. But then again, thats just me.

I have a lime green ribbon tied to my backpack.Honestly,in all my trips to WDW, I've never seen another person wih limegreen for the DIS on unless it was a scheduled DIS Meet.I've seen people in limegreen clothes and asked if they were DIS memebers and some looked at me like I was from Mars!!! Although that doesn't detour me...I still wear my lime green!! ::yes::

good to know,,why am i always the last to know these things?soooo...now I am looking for lime green stuff to wear..t shirts, hats, socks, hair ribbons,,,,back pack ...smething....so if u r going in JUNE and you see a weird looking girl with BRIGHT red hair(maybe in pigtails) with a weird looking guy with a shaved head,,say hi,,it just might be DH and I.....

First time we worn green was in December and Yes, we did run into two groups of people that approached us and they were members.

We tied lime green to everything but we saw no one! :bounce:

Old Navy has a lime green tshirt out for the spring. I purchased it to wear when I joined up for a wishes cruise last Friday night...well, I wore it, but it was under a couple other layers of clothes due to the freezing cold weather!!! :rotfl:

On our most recent trip I saw strollers twice parked in stroller parking wearing lime green ribbons, but alas there wasn't any owners of these strollers around. Out having fun w/o their strollers-how dare they!

On another thread there was the mention of getting the Mickey paint chips in neon green at Home Depot. I made a special trip to a Home Depot last week to get some...lol! I called Dh to see if he needed anything from Home Depot and he was like "what are you doing at Home Depot??". I told him I would tell him later because he would think I was crazy...lol! Today he saw them on the computer desk and asked what they were. Of course I had to tell him.

I was wondering if anyone else had picked them up. What color did you get? I picked up 2 Sonic Boom and 2 Alien Green (which is funny b/c I picked them up in the Home Depot in Roswell, NM!). I'm going to laminate them and put one on my packpack and the rest will find a home somewhere.

Thats a good idea about the paintchips....I might have to use that idea. I have to go out to Home Depot anyways and apply for a job....

When I was there in October - I saw some people from the DIS - but I was too new to the boards to say anything -

I think I am going to buy the DIS lanyard - i wear one all week anyway!

and wore it to the parks each day. So far, in 5 trips, I don't think I've seen one lime green ribbon at WDW. We have met other DIS'rs, though. Good Deeds, Karen, was on the same flight as us flying from Philly to MCO last month; Msmom (sp) was photographing our Segway Tour because her son was one of the participants; and we also met; and Jim's Mom (sp) was relaxing in the POR spa one evening. I'm sure there were people wearing the ribbons and we just missed them. I can't say we approach people wearing lime green shirts, etc., just ribbons or ID badges that have their DIS name on them. We also tag our luggage with lime green ribbons. I would like to see a DIS hat: surfer style, maybe white or very light grey, with "The DIS" embroidered on the front in lime green and maybe the user name on the back or one side. That would be neat.

I think the DIS people need a code!! :goodvibes We are all out there looking for lime and DIS shirts, fannies, etc..... I too encountered many lime shirts at WDW, but how do you approach and ask them if they belong to the DIS without "looking like you're from Mars"?? I guess I would say, "I like that top on you. Did you pick that color for any special reason?" ...or something to that effect---try to get them to fess up to being a DISer first! I still think we should come up with a code word .... :scratchin

I got the "Alien Green" Disney paint chip from home depot as well. It's sitting here on my desk as a reminder of all things "DIS" when I'm working on the computer. Here's my suggestion:

Get two paint chips and put the back to back (perhaps glueing them). Then go to Kinko's and have it laminated. Punch a hole in the top and attach a lanyard/keychain/or snap to either wear it around your neck or attach to your belt/purse/stroller/backpack/barbecue grill. You can even write your DIS name on it if you want (I suggest using a P-touch labeler).

If all the DIS'ers had one of these as an "official" ID, we'd be easy to spot...and all matching and unified!

Just wearing lime green clothing isn't enough...there are WAAAY too many folks who wear that popular color, especially in summer clothes. However, ADD some lime green ribbons, and I'll stop and say howdy. The ribbons were the first "official" DIS signs to wear, even before there was a DIS Shop. I wear the ribbons tied to the front and back (just as many people see your back) of my waist pouch. I use 6" lengths of curling ribbon and bunch several together and tied them on. I also have a DIS pin on my waist pouch. I made luggage tags that we also have on our packs made from the Home Depot Mickey Head paint chips.
Also....I have a DIS t-shirt that I bought right here on the DIS Store http://www.disshop.com/store.asp#HM-dis-shop
I paid full price, but they are on sale now too!
I've met DISers on every trip. Last trip, as I was leaving the Rainforest Cafe in AK, the CM saw my DIS shirt (he's a member too).

DH bought me the gray DIS shirt for Christmas! What a surprise!! I plan to wear it on the plane down to Florida and right to DQ for the day. Since we usually go to WDW in the summer, I think it's too hot to wear the t-shirts in the summer in the parks. On the "New DIS Store" thread, we've mentioned "ladies" t-shirts and tank tops.....they have to be cooler than the "standard" t-shirt! I think that's why you don't see many gals in the summer in the parks wearing DIS shirts.....too hot!!

Boy, I'm with you! For me, I've worn my lime green on at least 6-7 trips since I've joined the DIS. Lime green paint chips, ribbon, pins, etc. all over-on my lanyard, backpack, jacket, etc. In all those trips, with all that lime green, I've only met one person from the DIS as a result of it. I've met a few others, DIS members I'd planned to meet, the lime green just served as a way to pick each other out from the crowds. After my last trip, when there were many other DIS members there, and I didn't meet one, I'm so discouraged. I'd really love to meet some of the other members of these boards, but it seems everyone else travels "incognito", I guess.
