Wearing ears in the parks??

Hi all,
I just ordered my bride and groom ears this morning, and afterwards I was thinking - what do you do with them when you go on rides? I'd like to save them after the trip and I'm afraid they'll get ruined if we keep sticking them in our backpack for the faster rides. Should we just wear them out to eat?
