Wearing A Thong On Castaway Cay

Has anyone else seen "mothers" on the cruise wearing a thong??? We had 3 moms sitting next to us on castaway cay in thongs and I was suprised to see that on a disney cruise. I really dont want my young sons seeing some ladies butt!!

I can honestly say I have never seen that, but I have seen some questionable swimwear on people that show just as much!

I don't want my sons seeing that either, but they see much worse on tv & in everyday life. Some of the outfits out there are ridiculous!

Guilty!! I'm just thinking ... everyones description of a thong might be a little different ... we would need to see these "thongs" in order to determine if they are really "innapropriate" or not. I have seen some very appropriate thongs and some very innappropriate thongs in my time.

.... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I did see one at the Mickey pool once. I guess she obviously felt the need to show off her butt, but I didn't want to see it! So I just looked the other way.

I have to say that most of the people on my last cruise had pretty modest bathing suits on, but there were the few who had no business wearing a teeny weeny bikini (but decided to anyway!)

Personally, I prefer to keep my thongs on my feet!

Considering the nude beaches in St. Maarten....a thong would be extensive coverage!!!!
If you are taking kids on a cruise, you are taking them outside the U.S. and "educating" them on some of the differences in the world.
My kids commented on the lack of seatbelts in Taxis in the Caribbean, and the lack of smoking areas on some of the islands.
DS later went on a school trip to France and Spain and learned you need to specify how you want want poultry cooked in Spain...otherwise it will be served rare!!!
And in France, they were asked to leave a restaurant because they wanted to order just entrees and salads, not all 7 courses. The head waiter said in english (even though these were all 4th year high school French class students) that "This is not McDonalds". A pretty hard line considering their group were the ONLY customers in this restaurant.

I agree...I always start out feeling like a "cow" when I go out in my very modest tankini but after taking one look around, I usually feel like part of the "thin" crowd...the only thing that I can figure is that some people that wear bikinis must not have mirrors!

Aren't most of the waiters in Paris rude to Americans? The kids learned a valuable lesson. By the way, was the head waiter wearing a thong?

Mothers in thongs on Disney cruises...that is more disgusting than a head waiter in France.

Could someone explain why 95% of the females who wear thongs, actually wear them? Thongs would only look good on about 1% of the female population. Even then, they are not appropriate on a disney cruise.

Were these women from the US? In many countries this is a normal way to be on a beach. While I personally hung up my thong long ago I don't get offended when other people wear them. I want my son to be exposed to different cultures even if it's the good, the bad and the ugly.

if a thong is hidden or buried in excess soft tissue, it should just be called a "wrong." i also vote a big NO to man-kinis.
