Wearin’ o’ The Red?

Anyone know why red on gay day- and not pink - as in "pink triangle"
or even rainbow - I know "hard to find"- but hey, we’re gay - we’re nothing if not resourcefully?

I know I should probably know this and I'll most likely be asked
to give back my ruby slippers my Cher CDs and my Funny Girl poster.

No real reason. Red was just picked by the groups that organized the first Gay Day many years ago. It was just suggested that everyone wear the same color shirt so that everyone could identify each other. They wanted to make sure everyone had a shirt of that color, so they picked something common.
