We Won't Let A Head Cold Stop Us From Enjoying Disney Dining! Dec 11 Dining COMPLETE!

Loved reading your reviews! That's how we feel about Sci-fi too. We really love 50s Primetime, but what we are really craving to get back to is O'hana. I'm not ready to try Kona yet, maybe a couple more reviews might convince me.

Ditto! Although it could be hormones from pregnancy. Great story regardless!

Awww! Thanks!

I would like to try the food at 50s Primetime, but I am not crazy about the interactive aspect there. Just not my thing. I've been wanting to do 'Ohana again too. It's been about 4 years since our last time there and every trip since we have had a hard time getting a reservation there. Kona is my absolute favorite! Love dinner and breakfast there! I see so many bad reviews for it on here, but I am a big fan. Everybody's tastes are different though.

Thank you so much for sharing!!! Your pictures are fantastic! We were there last Christmas and your thread brought back such wonderful memories!! Thanks:wizard:!

Great reviews! My son has really enjoyed looking at the pics, since we are trying to plan out adr's for our next trip.

Thanks so much for reading along! Christmas at Disney is so much fun! :goodvibes

Thanks! Have fun planning your next trip!

Oh my gosh! It's the last day already! :sad2:

Like a true WDW pro I pretty much had all my bags packed the night before, so I was able to get ready, throw a few more things in my bags and head down to the food court for breakfast minus my still packing father.

I had been eyeing up the chocolate chip pancakes every morning since we arrived and I figured today was the day to finally get them. Even though it didn't say so on the menu the cast members informed me that they also came with a breakfast meat. I went with bacon.

And of course some apple juice too.

Delish! There were lots of chocolate chips in the pancakes and they were very fluffy. I made them extra sweet by dumping maple syrup all over them. The bacon was also really good this morning too.

Now that I'm all full of sugar I'm ready to head over to MK for our last day at the parks!

Up next... Colombia Harbour House

This was already our third time in the Magic Kingdom this trip and my dad was pretty satisfied with what we had done on this trip, so we had a leisurely day in MK for our last day. My dad was pretty beat, so we took a lot of breaks. Once it was time for lunch we decided to take another break inside Colombia Harbour House.

I love it here! I haven't eaten here in many many trips since DH doesn't like seafood. While there are some non-seafood options here, those options usually haven't appealed to DH on the few occasions I've mentioned eating here. My dad liked the sound of it however, so I was excited to get the chance to eat here again.

My dad got the Fried Shrimp Basket served with cole slaw and french fries.

I got the Fried Shrimp and Fried Fish Basket with cole slaw and french fries.

YUM! That's a lot of fried food, but boy was it tasty! It was a ton of food too. The fish was fantastic and the shrimp were very large and very filling. Add in the fries and the cole slaw and I had a happy belly. :goodvibes

For dessert my dad and I both got the Apple Crisp.

I loved this too! They used to serve this same thing at Turf Club for years except it was warm and served with ice cream. It was my favorite dessert in WDW, but they recently stopped serving this. I was very happy to find it here. It was a lot better warm and with ice cream, but hey, I'll take what I can get.

My dad loved it here too. He ate his whole meal and all my leftovers. Our last counter service credits were used very well!

Up next... Dole Whip!

Loving your DR, everything looks mouth watering.

Bubble and squeak is what you used to eat day after Sunday roast, which was leftovers. Main ingredients being cabbage mash potato, and then what ever else you want to put in it. I love it with HP brown sauce. :-)

Thanks for sharing xx

Thanks for clarifying the ingredients to Bubble and Squeak for me! It looked kinda weird when my dad had it, but the way you describe it sounds pretty tasty. I might have to try it next time. :thumbsup2

Great review! :goodvibes

Thank you so much! :)

After lunch at CHH my dad and I rode a few more rides and before we made our final stroll down Main Street this trip I had to stop for one of these beauties.

Dole Whip Pineapple and Vanilla Swirl. Yum! My ice cream was absolutly delicious, as always, but I had a really unfortunate encounter with a nasty group of women in line that kinda put a damper on my tasty treat. I had a three women get in line behind me after I had been standing there behind someone else for about 2 minutes and they FREAKED OUT and insisted that I cut in line. :confused3:confused3 They were very nasty about it and even after I told them that I was already standing there long before they got in line they were not hearing it. Oh well. Dole Whip makes people a little crazy sometimes I guess.

Up next... A trip to Grand Floridian for a Christmas treat!

We left the Magic Kingdom for the final time this trip, but we had some time to kill before we had to leave for the train station. My dad has never seen the inside of the Grand Floridian and I really wanted to see the Gingerbread House they have on display at Christmastime, so we got on the monorail and headed over to GF.

I am always impressed with the beauty of this hotel and their Christmas decorations made it look particularly stunning.

We made our way over to the Gingerbread House on display in the lobby and I was amazed. It was even cooler than I expected it to be! Here are a few pics for you.

Around the other side of the gingerbread house was a little store with all kinds of goodies. I wish I could have looked around a little bit more, but there were a lot of people behind me, so I tried to make some quick decisions. I ended up with a Gingerbread Man.

P1000403.jpg

This was absolutly delicious! I wish I had bought 10 more of these. I opened it on the train with the intention of only eating half of it, but I ate the whole thing and was regretting not having many more for the train ride. Yum!

I also bought a snowglobe shaped chocolate.

P1000404.jpg

This was just too cute! I don't know what it tasted like, because I used it as a decoration on my Christmas tree, but I bought additional ones as souveniers for my grandfather and my UPS man at work and they both enjoyed them.

If you ever get the chance to go see the Gingerbread House at GF I highly recommend it! Be sure to pick up some goodies for yourself too! :thumbsup2

Up next... Disney snacks on the train!

It's that time again dear friends. Time to leave glorious WDW and head back home. Well, head back to my non-Disney home anyway. My dad and I boarded the train with a lot more than we came down with. Some of our new baggage included some snacks for the train since we learned on our way down that food on the train is limited and overpriced.

Our shuttle driver was gracious enough to let us stop at a 7-11 on the way to the train station to load up on drinks and some cheap junk food which went along nicely with the not so cheap junk food I had purchased at Pop before we left the hotel.

I ate my Gingerbread Man from GF first and then later on in the night I cracked open a box of Jessica Rabbit themed Dark Chocolate Mint Creams. Sorry about the rest of the pictures. I didn't want to use the flash since people around me were trying to sleep and my camera also didn't want to focus too well in the dim light.

Here is what the candy actually looked like.

P1000415.jpg

These were really good! They were basically Junior Mints except they were about double the size. Very tasty.

Of course I needed some salty with my sweet, so I also opened my bag of Mickey shaped pretzels.

These were good too! Just pretzels, but like I said before, everything tastes better when it's shaped like Mickey!

Well... that's it folks. No more wonderful Disney food to tell you about. Thank you all so much for reading along and thanks for all your great comments! DH and I are already thinking about a trip during Food & Wine this year, so I hope to see you all again later this year to tell you about a new trip. Thank you! :goodvibes

It is sad when it ends. :sad2:I know I'll get there again this year some way or another, but DH is in between jobs right now, so I can't really plan until he's situated at his new job. Hopefully he can take some time off this fall or Food & Wine!

Thanks so much! Rose & Crown really was such an amazing expereince. I can't wait for my next dining review too! :thumbsup2
