We WEREN'T the "Castle Family", we DIDN'T get to be GRAND MARSHALLS,...

I always heard NYC just called "the city"...that is, until I started working further south in NJ and heard people refer to Philly as "the city".
Imagine my horror!

...I guess 'Jersey people' refer to the WHOLE state of New York as 'upstate', as opposed to just 'New York', which to most, means NYC.....
I will forgive you then ... it's the NYC people I can't forgive. ;)

We call NYC "The City" too. Philly is Philly, New Jersey is Jersey, nuff said.

That made me laugh, DM. :rotfl: We think we are going to "Upstate NY" when we go to Rocking Horse Ranch in Highland, NY... right at the BEGINNING of the Catskills...:goodvibes

I live in Westchester county, and have had Long Island folks telling me I live in "Upstate." No, no...

One of my daughter's good friends works at Rocking Horse Ranch and says it's great for kids.

When I worked in RI, I was excited about going to NYC for the first time and calling it "The City." I was chastised by a reporter- he told me that in RI, Providence was "the city."

We arrive on the 16th, 3 nights at The Poly, 4 nights at CSR, then the best of all, 4 nights at The Beach Club, which will include Christmas Eve, Christmas and Boxing Day!!

Obvioulsy you were in Epcot on Christmas, sould you actually move? We are making ADR for Cape May, for Xmas dinner.

Your report is excellent....

"The City" is Manhattan. "Upstate NY" is everything else other than "The City". New Jersey is "North Jersey" or "The Shore". "Philly" is Philly.

We've been going to Rocking Horse Ranch since DD is 7. (She's 14 now.) We go every Memorial Day Weekend, and sometimes try to squeeze in another visit in October or Christmas time. The place is awesome! Even the adults love it. :cool1:
