We Were Wondering if.............

.............you guys were ever in, or, could help us with this situation.
Here goes ,
We`ll be @ SSR in Aug.`05, for 2 weeks.
The first week, will be a Studio (DH and I alone). 1st 2 days (wed. & Thurs.), points;
Fri. & Sat. (cash, 25% DVC discount)
Then last 3 days of the week, (sun. to Wed.) Points.

.............then- moving to a one bedroom (DS & DDIL) will be joining us for the next week (points).
( today, we got 4 ressies )!!!!!!!
A- Will we have to check-out and in 3xs???
Then move to the 1 bedroom?
B- if so, do you guys think we would be able to keep the ( one ) studio??
and C- will we be having mousekeeping on the cash days?

WOW, didn`t think this was going to be complicated
Just asked for 1 week, Studio, 1 week 1 bedroom!!

O.K. Here are the answers:

Yes you will. Most likely you won't have to move, but you will have to make an appearance at the front desk each time a new reservation comes up. Have MS link all three of the studio reservations, and when you check-in remind the CM about your continuing reservations. You will have to completely check-out and check back in for the 1 bedroom ressie, and probably be without a room for a few hours. Just have Bell Services come and get your bags for them to be held until the 1 bedroom is ready.

B- if so, do you guys think we would be able to keep the ( one ) studio??

As I said above, most likely you won't have to move, but it isn't a guarantee.

C- will we be having mousekeeping on the cash days?

No, since the reservation is made through MS and you're receiving the Member Discount, you recieve the same limited services as a Member staying on points will.

With the member discount, you should not have to go through the checkout/checkin process with each change in the studio. They should treat it as 1 member points stay because all the nights came out of points inventory (member discount nights come from the points inventory). Your trash & towel will be on day 4 of the combined stay. If you went through CRO for the cash nights, then you would have to checkout/checkin.

I did this last year. I did Friday and Saturday with member cash discount, then Sunday to Thursday on points. When we arrived on Friday, we got key cards and parking permit for the entire 7 nights. Trash & Towel was on Monday, day 4 of the combined stay.

This year we did Sunday to Thursday on points and then an AP discount for Friday night through CRO. I did have to go to the front desk on Friday morning to get new key cards and parking permit. However, we did get full houskeeping for that day.

The main thing that I`m picking up here, is that @ least we won`t have to move 3xs in one week.,(even before we get into the one bedroom ),( so Happy about that )!,
DebbieB, I`m thinking that "we might, or We "might NOT" have a mousekeeping day! (sounds like it all depends on check-in on a weekend day, or check-out on a weekend day, right??
none of the ressies ( except the straight week in 1 bedroom ) T&T on day 4, mentioned anything!

anyway, DH wanted to have a longgggggg vacation, so we`re just gunna have to nominate him to do the checking-in and out!!!

We had the same experience as DebbieB in April. 1 night on points, 1 night cash through MS, and 4 nights on points. Since everything was booked through MS, the reservations were linked and our stay was seamless. Checked in once and kept the same keys and room the entire time. No fuss or muss.

In addition, we started out in a 2 BR with friends, and when they left, we were able to keep the 1 BR part for the stay described in the first paragraph. That reservation was also linked to the others. We did have to check in again when we went from the 2 BR to the 1 BR because it's different sized rooms, even though we stayed in the same room. MS and the OKW desk made it SO EASY.

AND, we had our choice of 2 BRs that were ready at 7:30 AM, and the CM at the desk set all this up after we selected our (fantastic) room.

You should be entitled to trash and towel. Ask about it when you check in, and contact mousekeeping if you want to switch the day. Hope you have a great trip!

It was great of OKW to let you guys stay in the same villa , We went through ms also, ( for the entire reservation ), and recieved 4 of them the other day.
I will certainly ask about T&T service when we arrive, and thank you for your good wishes.

I also agree ~ if you book your cash nights with the member discount thru MS, they will link the ressie and you will not have to move. We just did 8 nights 9 days at BCV's in a 1bdrm from Sept.25 - Oct.3 and we booked Friday 9/25 on points,Sat.9/26 cash w/member discount,Sun.9/27-Thurs.9/30 on points, and Fri. Oct.1 - Sun. Oct.3 on cash w/the member discount again.

As you can see we had 4 different ressies but all thru MS in the points inventory. We did not have to move even once NOR did we have to check in and out since they linked all the ressies.

Now, if you book your cash ressies thru CRO rather than thru MS, that would be another story. They say they try to keep you from having to move cannot gaurantee it and you DO have to check in and out. But as you can see from our experience and the previous posters, if booked with the Members discount you will not have to move or check in and out.

I don't know about anyone else but I would suggest you just book two weeks in a studio for yourselves and then reserve a SEPERATE studio for your married children....

One bathroom for the four of you doesn't sound like a lot of fun, nor does the lack of privacy for the younger couple.

I just think everyone would be more comfortable with an actual bed.

I hear ya, and I agree! It`s just that, We know that the kids have commitments to thier jobs ( even though they`ve given thier vacation dates ). So DH and I will @ least have the opportunity to experience a 1 bedroom anyway, even if they have to back out (hoping they won`t have to, of course!). I felt the same way you mentioned, ( they would have thier own bedroom ), so WE might take the sofa bed the second week, and give them the master bedroom.
Thanks for your view though, that was a great thought. I think I`d rather be near the kitchen in the morning anyway, (gotta have my coffee)

You shouldn't have to physically move out of the studio between the points and cash nights, but oyu will have to probably pop in to the check-in area to do some signing in.

Obviously going form a studio to a 1BR will reuire a physical move and another stop at the check-in. The nice thing about physically moving is that Bell Services comes, takes your stuff, and stores it till you call for it in your new room, the they bring it to the new room. They will also store refrigerated items. May I suggest bringing or buying a cheap cooler? That way, if you have refrigerated items form the studio, you can put them in there, Bell Services will store them, and then you can have the brought to your new 1BR unit. Just an easier way to keep track of/transport perishables than having bags of groceries.

hadn`t really given much thought to what the move from the studio to the 1 bedroom would be like, since I was worryng mostly about how many ressies I recieved, ( and how THAT was going to play out)
Now, thanks to all of you guys who took the time out , to help me out with some of my concerns, I feel alot more comfortable
