Today my DNephew returned to work and performed in Tiana's Showboat Jubilee for the first time. So, of course, we had to be there to see him.
We got there pretty early (not at 8 though) and proceeded to NOS to get our tickets to ride the boat. Turns out we could have taken our time as they (the Jubilee CMs) don't even arrive until 9:45 so we ended up waiting a little over an hour to spot the CMs giving out tickets.
Once we saw them (2 guys) we practically ran over to them and asked if we could get tickets. They said they were giving them out randomly. I nicely mentioned we were there to see my nephew's performance and the only reason we came today was to see him and try to ride the boat during the show. He gave us a ticket for 5 people!
It was already 10:57 when we got our ticket and we were supposed to be at the landing by 11 a.m. We got there a few minutes after 11 and waited with the others. There were 21 people on board for the 11:15 show. If you are wanting to have a child go with you, don't worry too much about their height. My DD is 52" and there was a much younger girl, barely 36", and she was on the boat.
It was fun doing the show, but even now my one arm is a little sore from flicking my hankie, holding my note, and shaking my tamborine. But it was a fun experience.
We didn't get to talk to my nephew on board but we did get the MnG with Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, and Louis, the Croc. We had them all sign our boat ticket (we had our own Sharpie but one of the CMs had one as well). Tiana and Naveen were very nice and friendly.
A PP photog took some pictures of us with the characters. I think there were 3 of them on the boat.
We did have to keep shaking our tamborines until we passed Hungry Bear Restaurant.
We didn't have that much time to do the MnG but there were only a few kids on the boat anyway so it was plenty.
We went back to see the 12:45 show since we didn't get to see my nephew perform, since he was above us. The show is cute, and high energy. I think he did a great job! I took about 100 pictures and my DSis took a few more than that.
If you are interested in trying to be in the show and have any questions, let me know.
I'll post some pictures, later, as well. Now it's time for dinner.
And, oh, BTW, the park was pretty crowded today.
We didn't even eat lunch in the parks, we ate at the Jazz Kitchen in DTD and then went home.
ADDED-if anyone was there on Tuesday and took pictures of the first show, 11:15 I would love to see any taken of the guests performing. We were on the lower deck when we performed. Or the top deck where my nephew performed-mostly near the front. TIA.
