We were given keys to an occupied room!!

When I enter a room for the first time, I always knock on the door (DH thinks I'm crazy) and then I yell into the room...sometimes I yell "Housekeeping!", sometimes I yell "Anybody home?"--you get the idea. And while I'm in the room, I always keep the door bolted and locked. I've never had anyone try to enter my room, but I have been assigned to an occupied room (Hotel Lexington in New York).

This didn't happen at Disney, but my sister and my brother-in-law went to Vegas two weeks ago and it happened there. They were given keys to the wrong room at 2am! The hotel ended up giving them a free suite for the night and a free meal.

Yes, this has happened to me on several occasions, a lot of business travel I guess increased my odds. It didn't bother me too much, I knew the mistake on the part of the front desk people wasn't intentional. I never actually opened the door to a person on the other side though, just realized quickly that there were peoples possesions in the room, so closed the door quickly and went right back to the front desk for another room.
