What a fantastic time we had! We arrived at the park early and were waiting around, just joking with our kids (23 and 17). A man walked up to us and asked why we were there so early, so we told him that we thought the park opened an hour earlier so we got up at 4 am and decided to head to the park anyway. He laughed and walked away. Then he came back and asked us our last name (Brown). So he left again. About 10 minutes later he came back and let us through the gate! We were ecstatic and thought that we would be allowed to just walk through the park. We had no idea what was coming! He started explaining to us about the special train that they only use on Christmas Day and how lucky we were to ride on it. We still didn't get what was going on. Then as we got to the train (walking with him) we noticed a whole group of Disney Characters coming toward us! I could not believe it and was speechless! They walked up to us and then another man came and introduced himself. He took my camera and started taking pictures of us and the characters. Then he explained what was going on. That we were "The Family of the Day" and would get to open the park by throwing pixie dust with the characters before park opening and waving to the crowd!
I cannot explain what an awesome time we had. It was so surreal. We all truly thought that it was a dream and could not believe we were on this train talking with Micky, Daisy, Mary Poppins and the gang! We got to sit on that train with them about 20 minutes waiting for the park opening time.
It was truly one of the best experiences of my life! I wish I had pictures of us from the front but at least he took a lot of us from behind (LOL).
Thank you to everyone from Disney for our truly magical Christmas Day that will never, ever be forgotton!
