I know not a very positive title, but I was so ready for a great trip to WDW and we personally prefer Disneyland to WDW. The crowds were unbelievable!!! So hot and humid and we only got on about 10 rides in the whole 10 hours we were there!!! Fast passes were gone pretty quick...the wait for stuff that didn't have fast passes were at least 2 hours on some...cranky kids, cranky cast members, cranky food sellers...not the most magical place!

I think the mood is so different at Disneyland than at Magic Kingdom in WDW...

The kids did have a great time at Epcot and Animal Kingdom and MGM. We had less crowds, more fun...and just able to relax more.

I would not recommend anyone to go to WDW. I would tell them to head to Disneyland!!!

I will have to post more about the fun we had in the other three parks...we had a huge rain storm on Wednesday night...none of these little 15 minute rainstorms, it was an all out mini hurricane!!!

But we are able to say we went to WDW, but will not go back.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy yourself. Had you prepared by reading any of the tour books or use TGM? I could see how someone would get overwhelmed if they did not read up on what to expect. We went during peak season last year but had a magical time!!! :goodvibes

Oh I had read and planned and had schedules and such. The crowds were so overwhelming it was unbearable. We were able to do our plans at Epcot, MGM, AK much easier than at MK, but the little ones where not happy at MK because of the crowd. I can't believe how rude some parents get. Isn't Disney, MK, more for the kids? You would think that the parents are the number one thing there...God forbid that an adult sitting on the curb with no kids and me the one parent trying to hold to kids up on my shoulders so they can see the parade. I have to say our experience at MGM on our last night for Fantasmic, the night before they cancelled the show due to the high winds, a "grandpa" had saved a few seats near the front for a "family" and gave them to us. My two little ones where in heaven to see the show that close and enjoy the last bit of their time in Disney. I know that is how Disney was supposed to be. Same attitudes rang through in Epcot and AK, more generous and working to make sure that it was the kids having the most memorable fun.

I still prefer Disneyland...:) Even in peak season there you at least have a chance to get on everything before the end of the day at least once maybe two times....

Another thing I noticed now is that just about every ride you come off of, there is a store there...Disneyland was not like that 4 years ago..and having to drag kids through the shop to get out of the ride is so hard for a parent to do, the challenge of getting out without a trantrum....they did their shopping on the last day, but just that merchandising thing at MK was overwhelming....more than at the other parks...

MK I think is so much on top of each other, the rides and such and some of our favorites were not in MK as they are in DL...feel more spread out in DL...there is all that space, why cram it all on top..but the castle was breathtaking and the kids loved the fireworks there...

Hmm, well that's funny, because I was just in Disneyland with my dad right after Christmas while we were in California for the Rose Bowl, and it was soooo packed there is no way we could have done everything in the park atleast once...the area around POTC and the Haunted Mansion was so crowded you could not even walk through that area without getting tangled up in the lines for the rides! (now, we were also there in 2004 around the same time and I might have agreed with you...but it was also really really rainy one of the days, so after comparing the 2 trips we thought the rain/bad weather might have kept people away...) Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Disneyland though!!

Sorry you didn't have a good time at WDW. :guilty: I've been to WDW several times over Easter break and after Christmas, and we never have any trouble doing what we want to.
