....and is wasn't half bad.

It was a very spur of the moment thing, we got in the car and said, right where shall we go, looked on Tom Tom and decided on Thorpe Park. Needless to say I had no picnic, suncream or hats for the girls but the weather was perfect, not too hot, no rain and nobody got burnt.

We last went as a couple about eight years ago and thought it was pants but were pleasantly surprised yesterday. We didn't go on any of the thrill rides, of which there are many, they seem to have invested quite a bit of money in the last few years.
We went on the River Rapids, Log flume, Pirates 4d show, various "kiddie" rides for the little ones as well as water slides and mini coasters.
They've given the food over to KFC and Burger King which is no bad thing, at least you know what to expect!

The park was clean, in good condition and seemed quite well run. Most of the staff we encounted were helpful and friendly. My only gripe was that they didn't have a disposable nappy for sale in the whole place. Had to ask a fellow citizen to sell me one when I ran out.

Under one metre little ones get in free, out DD4 is over a metre but luckily she slumped down when the guy looked through to booth so she got in for free. It was 32.00 each for adults. I bought two return tickets for £10 each to be used by October.

There is a little "beach" there too with some small slides for little 'uns and a few tubes for bigger ones. It wasn't quite warm enough yesterday and we had no cossies but on a nice day with a picnic I think a good day can be had there.

Glad you had a good day, they seem to have improved things a lot the last couple of years, and that beach area looks fantastic if the weather is good enough:thumbsup2

Glad you had a good time, we went last year and wished we'd known about the beach bit! Can't help comparing with WDW though :rotfl2:

I know! :lmao: Isn't it funny how you compare every theme park to WDW even though WDW is this slick, professional, well run, well funded uber theme park that an outfit like Tussauds can never compete with!
That's what makes it so special.

Nice to hear you had a lovely day.
How spooky is this :scared1: as i have done a scrapbook page of my DH & DS at Thrope park using the photo they had taken on loggers leap about 16 years ago. :)
