We survived a snake, killer bees, crazy pigeons and the in-laws!

And the saga continues . . .

Kids were rejuvenated by SAB, and DH and I were fortified by some pina coladas and long island iced teas, in-laws rested and then joined us at SAB. DFIL even went swimming with ds and all was right with the world. DMIL forgot her fears that we were trying to kill her with the lightening and everyone was happy again!

We had ADRs for Biergarten tonight. THis was our first time there and I knew it had gotten mixed reviews. I thought the kids would enjoy the show, DIL's would enjoy the food (they're slovak so it's pretty close to German food) and since there were 7 of us we would have our own table, which seemed to be the most common complaint. We hit the jackpot and were seated at a table right at the first tier, stage level. Everyone loved the show and the kids were out there dancing with the rest of the kids and that made for a really pleaseant meal. Nobody was whining, food was great and the kids were having a ball. They do this toast - tiki, taki, tiki, taki, hoy, hoy, hoy! DH and DFIL were doing the beer samplers and by the end of their sampling they were hoy, hoy, hoying with glee. We had a great waiter, Anton, who talked a lot about his home in Germany and was really great with the kids. This was probably our most favorite dinner of the week. After dinner we walked around WS, stopped to shop a little and saw British Invasion, one of DH and my favorites. We went over to do Spaceship Earth and called it a night. We didn't stop to watch Illuminations but could see the fireworks as we were walking out. Tomorrow was in-laws last full day so we gave them the choice of which park they wanted to see and they picked MK! Kids went for a quick swim and DMIL and I took a quick run to the laundry room before we called it a night completely.

To be continued.

Subscribing ~ I love this report!

Congrats on your son starting law school – I’m in my second year at LSU Law (Geaux Tigers!) – its hard, but I love every second of it

subscribing also - enjoying the report

And on those light up string things - they sell them at the Mission Space exit/spend your money here store - I went thru this same quest for the toy my last trip with my DD's and finally got it there.

That was back in March and those things still get played with all the time.

We stumbled onto the Biergarten buffet on accident one year and really had a good time. All the other restaurants had long waits and we didn't have ADR's. It was pretty empty at the time we went, but the band was playing, the food was good, and it was enjoyed by all. :thumbsup2

In-laws last day and Bibbity Bobbity Boutique!

Today was the in-laws last full day with us. I wouldn't have believed that this trip with them would go so smoothly. Both DH and I were really nervous, not sure if they would have a good time or if we would all even be speaking by the end of the week. As it turned out everyone got along really well, in-laws were easy to please, and by this time they were already talking about returning with us next year! WOW!

Anyway today we let them pick which park to go to. DH and I both thought they would pick MGM, but surprise they still had some "kid" left in them and picked MK. By now they new the drill, even DMIL, they were up early, at the bus stop on time, and DMIL even knew to have her bag open and tickets ready at the turnstile.

We tried to get some things done that they hadn't done yet - Pirates of the Carribean for one. THe line was long, but not as long as it would get later in the day. This is one time we had an unfortunate episode with a Brazilian tour group. We were in line when half of the tour group rushed ahead of us, almost knocking us over. The other half of the group was behind us, and another family. THey kept running back in forth trying to get the whole group ahead of us. THis kept going on the whole time. Finally DMIL and I had had enough. After one too many time, DMIL and ds both almost got knocked to the ground I found the tour leader and really lit into her. She did in fact make the first half of the group get back to where she and rest of the group were but we saw her snickering and pointing to us. However the family behind us thanked us because they had been caught in the rowdiness also and had gotten pushed around also. Anyway we all liked the new POC, but not the new lines! We had eaten breakfast at Cape May Buffet (sorry I forgot) and it was fabulous. This was actually the best breakfast buffet we had ever been to at WDW and we've been to just about all of the. For once no one was "starving". We only stayed at MK 1/2 day because the girls had an appointment at BBB! We caught the bus back to YC, did a little swimming and snacking and got ready to go to DTD. I brought the girls Cinderella dresses with me to change at BBB because we had a dinner ADR at 1900 Park Fare. We caught the bus for DTD, with many stops. We did have one funny episode on the bus. A little boy, maybe 4, really had to go to the bathroom. It had been a long bus stop. The bus driver made an "emergency stop" and the dad took the little boy into the buses by Saratoga Springs. Everyone knew how the mom felt when she said - sorry but he just wouldn't have made it. I thought it was really nice of the bus driver to understand. We made it to DTD and I had allowed about an hour of time before our appointment so the kids went to Goofy's candy shop and made one of the specialty cups (the kind you can bring back) and had icees. DMIL and I headed over to the Basin where I filled a basket with great bath salts and the fizzy balls. I have to get them everytime we go to Disney, they are my favorite! Next Up - BBB and 1900 Park Fare.

please tell me DMIL doesn't read trip reports

DMIL doesn't even know about the DIS boards. THis was her first trip back to Disney in 20 years!

Anyway, it was now time to go over to WOD for the girls BBB appointment. DH and DFIL were taking ds to the Pirate room. I checked the girls in - we had about a 20 minute wait even with an appointment. My girls were having the middle package (I think it was the coach) - hair, nail and light make up. I was stunned at how many girls were having the full packages - $175! One little girls said this was her third time there. Anyway the girls got a little invitation with their names on it and they told us to decide which style hair they wanted before the fairy godmother in training came to get them. They both got the fairy princess hair style, I think the others looked way to old for them and DH wouldn't have been happy with the "punk" look. DD asked if they had fake nails and they told us they were $10 more. DD (7) added them to her package but dd (8) didn't want them. They fairy godmothers in training came to get them started. DD(8) godmother was very nice but dd (7) godmother was fantastic! I can't remember her name but she was great. Really took a lot of time with her. Now dd (7) hair is really curly and a pain to do but she was so nice and really did a nice job. PHotopass photogapher came around and made it seem extra special. I had them in their Cinderella dresses already and everyone was asking where dd (7) got her Cinderella dress. Well it's funny because dd (8) got hers at WDW a few years ago and dd (7) the one they were asking about was a DIsney Store, deluxe Cinderella gown. Both girls were thrilled when they were done. I wanted to tip the fairy godmother but was told that wasn't allowed. I just filled out the survey card and said what a great job she had done. DS, DFIL and DH returned and ds was dressed like a pirate and said he had a great time in the pirate room. Disney in-laws had never even been in a WOD store and couldn't believe the BBB and pirate room - they were super-impressed. We got ourselves together to catch the bus for GF for 1900 Park Fare. We had always stayed at GF before this trip so it was somewhat bittersweet going back there just for dinner. Every where we looked was so familiar and seemed like home. DIL's were stunned by the GF. Dinner at 1900 Park Fare was great as usual, the only downside was that Prince CHarming missed our table - ds was quite disappointed. THe kids had a great time with Suzy and Perla and were teasing DMIL because she is petrified of mice. The kids got a kick out of having the mice take a picture with DMIL. DMIL was good natured and humored about it all. We decided to take the monorail back to Epcot and walk back to YC from there because the in-laws hadn't been on the monorail yet. We walked back to YC and saw some of Illuminations. Got back in time to do a little swimming then it was time for in-laws to pack for their trip home and me to pack for our move over to the Poly. We all agreed that it had been a great week. In-laws stunned us by saying they had such a great time that they wanted to come back next year. No one was more surprised than me when I realized I had a great time and wanted them to come back next year too!

Next up - moving to the Poly and a disappointment.
