Thanks JadeDarkstar! If you find the thread let me know please! I would so rather have the cake at BB. It's a special 50th BD trip from my sister and we've got friends flying in from all over the country for this. It would be great to have AT dinner!!

np and i dont know where it was at but some one was asking same thing you are and some one came on saying they had the cake delivered in bb but it was the only one inside park they would do,i know it was on disneyland boards if that helps and between now and 3months ago
id call and talk to a different cast member say "I have heard that they were delivered to BB and say its for a surprise bday dinner

I am working with th Grand Cali Hotel on a very customized cake for my trip, and was told by vacation planner, and the grand that cakes are NOT delivered to dining venues inside the park or dtd.

Thanks all. Sounds like we'll have to try and figure out a fast one for getting the cake to BB without DS seeing it.

Seems kinda silly that they don't do cakes at the part restaurants though. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why not? We've done it at WDW before and it's wonderful! You don't have to worry about how/when to get the cake and take it to the restaurant. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the cake through the ticket/security line and all the way to BB! Those 10" cakes get pretty heavy...

are you eating at all at goofys or chip and dales? i know they deliver to goofys dinner

On this thread, post #130, you should call and order a cake with Disney dining. They need a minimum 48 hours notice.
Hope that helps.:cutie:

Thanks again. I'll give Disney Dining a call tomorrow and see what they say. It sounds like the problem is we're eating at Blue Bayou and from what other people say you can't get cakes at Park restaurants, only hotel restaurants. I will call tomorrow and let you all know what I find out.

Thanks all for your help!

And yes it was every bit as good as it looks!!!!!!!

It does look good. How was that filling? I am in the process of working with the Cake Chefs at the Grand Cali for a really customized cake. I am torn between 2 fillings. Where did you order yours? I believe they did not want to suggest the Ganache for the type of design I am wanting.

The filling was every bit as good as the one in my small $500.00 wedding cake, so good , not overpowering at all. I ordered it from disney dining and had it delivered to story tellers.

DoOverDreams, You can have the cake delivered to you hotel room.....thats what we did.

Ok I am down to 2 choices. Vanilla cake with Chocolate Mousse, or Vanilla cake with White Choclate mousse/raspberries. They seem to like suggesting the vanilla cake more. I am working with the grand Cali , and I feel like tick tock , but I can't make my mind up grrrr.

What kind of frosting?
Both fillings sound so good!

Thanks. I really really wanted it at the Blue Bayou! We've got dinner there next Friday night (12 people) and everyone is expecting a cake! And to make matters worse, I called Disney Dining today and found out you can't even pick up a cake and bring it with you! You're not allowed to do that.

I was going to order a cake from the Vacation Planner guys, have it delivered to the hotel, and my DH was going to sneak back and pick it up and hand deliver to the restaurant. But Disney Dining said I can't do that. We're not allowed to take a cake in to the park.

Now I don't know what to do. I really wanted to make this special for the DS's BD. I don't know why, but right now I'm so upset I could cry.

It's so much easier at WDW!:sad1:

Sorry, I don't have pictures to post yet, but we just came back from celebrating DD12's birthday at DLR. We went to PCH Grill on her birthday and I had called ahead and ordered a cake. She chose choclate cake, whipped cream filling, and chocolate ganache. We also ordered 5 of the sugar characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto). The cake was decorated really beautifully, and actually cost less than what they told me on the phone. It was a 10" cake. I was charged $23.50 for the cake and they only charged for 4 of the figures @ $4.50 each, plus we got the AP discount. Definitely worth it. It was a very moist cake and had good flavor. :goodvibes

P.S. for what it's worth, when I called to order the cake, they gave several more options for the sugar figurines (Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and the Castle).

I will post pictures as soon as I can.
