And it was great! This was the best Broadway show we have seen. 2 hrs and 45 minutes and it went by so fast. Everyone in the show was wonderful, especially the little boy who played the young Simba. He was excellent! Just wanted to share with everyone.

Saw it when it was in Cincinnati, it is wonderful. Of course, anything with Simba in it is wonderful.:teeth:

Saw it in NY in 2000, will be seeing it here in Sept. A great one for sure.

We saw it a few years ago here in Mpls, before it went to Broadway. What an amazing show! The costumes and the set were incredible. They did an amazing job - some of those scenes must have been so hard to design for a stage (the stampede!), but wow, they really pulled it off!

My Aunt just saw it also in Chicago, and showed me her souvenir book. I didn't really have a desire to see it, but after she told me how amazing it is and showed me the pictures in the book I know i just have to see it. I'm planning to see it when DH gets home in July, we're having a "date night":D And it's a surprise for him. I'd see Miss Saigon which is in town, but seen it 3 times already and DH saw it once. It's one of my faves, but I want to see Lion King.

Which brings me to ask, can anyone in Chicago recommend a classy restaurant, one that is nice but won't break the bank? i'm not talking about the Signature Room or anything, but something nice:) We're open to any type of food, but we love seafood and steaks.

We saw it last weekend and agree that the show was wonderful! After seeing mock-ups of the costumes at DL last year we couldn't wait until it came to Chicago!

We saw it Sat night also!!!!! The 8pm show. It was AWESOME!!!!! I did think it was going a bit slower after intermission but it was perhaps because I was so tired.

We ate at Petterino's which is just a few blocks from the theater. The food was very good but it was al a carte. Also Italian Village is not that far from the theater either (maybe about 4 or 5 blocks). We've eaten there and it is also very good. The one problem that we found is that places either closed at 4 or didn't open before then and we were ready to eat dinner at 4 (don't ask).

PM if you'd like the addresses of these two places and I can find them for you.

My dh also found a parking place that was like a block from the theater and we only had to pay $8 FOR THE WHOLE DAY!!!! It was like $8.50 or $9 but then with validation of your tickets it was $8. Went in and used the bus and free trolley's to do some things we wanted to do up on North Michigan so it was a great price.
