WE SAW IT, WE CONQUERED IT, WE ATE IT. Tons of pics! Just Updated 10/22!

Hi all! Day 3 EPCOT ADVENTURE AND THE EVIL MARGARITA!

Once again the shrill of the phone woke us up at 6:32 am. (hint if you ask for an off time you are more likly to get the mouse wake up call vs some other character :) ) Ofcourse once again i have it on speaker phone and once again I'm the only one excited and awake to listen to it!

After rushing to eat our cereal and donuts and cramming into that small bathroom we hit the road at 8:30. Thank God we had a rental car!

Ok so this beautiful day was spent at EPCOT. It started bright and early at 9am. We were good for a while riding rides and enjoying 88 degree sunshine (tho it was a bit hot to me lol). We were lucky in that we were able to grab fast passes and hop on soarin with less than 5 minute wait, and went again stand bye as soon as finished with no more than a 10 min. wait.
disneyday3026.jpg

disneyday3024-1.jpg

love this picture lol :) getting ready for soarin !

From there we headed over to the living seas and enjoyed Turtle Talk! How fun is that! My son got very into it. I laughed so hard! The dolphins were great and so were the manatee's. My son was in SEA HEAVEN! He loves sharks and we thought this was a good photo op!

disneyday3031-2.jpg

We got hungry and headed to Mexico. We stopped at Cantina de San Angel. Now were from Texas so were pretty picky about our Mexican food, but we liked this so much that we ate here twice our trip bypassing all other CS in the world. My DD did eat Chinese one day but didn’t take a picture. Shame on that girl, I thought I trained her right!

worldshowcaseandspoodles001.jpg

Plato Combinacion - chicken taco, beef burrito and a quesadilla served with black refried beans and Mexican salsa $7.99. We both (dh and I ) ate this same meal twice. That quesadilla was more a fried sopapia with cheese in it.

worldshowcaseandspoodles003.jpg

Cantina Nachos - tortilla chips, beef, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, sour cream, black refried beans $6.99. DD ate this, she said it was OK..she was the most picky of the group anyway.

worldshowcaseandspoodles002.jpg

Plato del Nino - child size beef burrito, tortilla chips and a small soft drink $3.99. Ds ate this twice and enjoyed it very much. His was a quesadilla tho with cheese and chicken breast. He wont eat a burrito LOL.

disneyday3037-1.jpg

Dessert was churros. My family liked them, but my son fed mine to the annoying birds ON OUR WAY OUT of the patio eating area (sorry for those left to deal with them lol)

So we spent some time milling around Mexico and everyone had these yummy looking margarita’s. It was hot and they looked yummy. Now looking back I can truly understand why most theme parks do not serve alcohol.

I am not a drinker. I had maybe 1 drink per day on my vacation and not every day at that. That is vacation…at home I don’t drink at all, very rarely. So myself and my DD who is 22 and still finding the ideal of alcohol somewhat a novelty, but alas as an adult I’m not telling her she can’t have one, saunter on up to the kiosk to order our margarita’s. They were swirled, strawberry, kiwi and I believe peach together.

Somehow going in they reminded me of a slurpee from 7-11. Let me tell ya what…they AIN’T NO SLURPEE I EVER HAD….egads.
disneyday3040-1.jpg

disneyday3042-1.jpg

So there I am with my margarita and I pass by Kringla Bakeri Og Café in Norway and I had to stop in and get a school bread. OMG remember how I said that the lobster bisque at CR was one of my faves of the week? Well this WAS my favorite thing I stuck in my fat mouth all week. So good that later in the week I got another one.
This was a thicker donut like cake with the absolute yummiest vanilla custard inside, ice cold custered, (but curiously the donut wasn’t hard and cold, rather soft and yummy) on top was an icing, that while sweet wasn’t over powering, with lots of yummy moist coconut on top. This cake was big enough for 3 to share, but to bad for me, my family hates coconut. TO BAD SO SAD…(my hips and thighs spread atleast 2 inches from eating this bread lol)
worldshowcaseandspoodles008.jpg

worldshowcaseandspoodles010.jpg

While eating the school bread and drinking my margarita I was fine, infact better than fine. I was feeling GREAT. Ummmm really great. …..until I get up and walk…I get to china and then BAMMMMMO the margarita from hell kicks in and my legs feel like they are enclosed in quick sand. I look at my DH and say “I gotta go back to the hotel..i’m drunk.” Just like that. I’m drunk. I’m such a wiener. My DD feels fine, and wants to stay. You’d think she’d be worse off weighing a whopping 110 lbs, but then again, maybe I don’t want to know that she can handle her booze better than her 40+ yr old mom. Egads.

So off to the front of Epcot we go. Why btw do they sell alcohol all the waaaaaaaaaay back in the back of the worlds when you gotta walk all the waaaaaaaaay back up front after you drink them. I swear my head pounded and I was green.
We got back to the room and laid down a bit and I felt so much better! About 3 hours later we headed back to EPCOT again to eat at LeCellier.

LeCellier and our night at Epcot!

Our much anticipated dining experience was here at last! The ADRs that I had had for 5 months were about to be fulfilled. I couldn’t wait! I was worried all the months of high expectations would be ruined with one bad experience.
I shouldn’t have worried one bit.
We arrive at 6:30 for our 6:40 ADRs and there is almost no one waiting ahead of us! Wow! A very nice hostess notices Tylers Birthday button and asks him to please help her seat a few quests. Ofcourse he gets really excited. They gave him a badge that said special host and handed him a pile of menus and he yells out ROBERTS TABLE OF 4. I start laughing hysterically. The Roberts looked a bit bewildered. Meanwhile my DH has no clue that he is supposed to be seating strangers and starts yelling TYLER WHAT ARE YOU DOING! I laugh even more hysterically.
th_disneyday3043-1.jpg

Tyler had a great time, and somehow my little diser and planner mentioned to the waitress that I had been worried about getting one of those little tables that are all connected by the booths..that are arm pit to elbow..so low and behold we got a table for 4 in a corner not even near anyone else. It was by far the most peaceful dining experience of the trip.
Ok, for the food. YUM. Nothing but YUM.

disneyday3029-1.jpg

Vine-Ripened Tomato Stack - shiitake mushrooms, wilted spinach, balsamic reduction $7.99 DD really loved this.

disneyday3030-1.jpg

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup - smoked bacon and Moosehead beer $4.99 . the rest of us had this for an appetizer, and though it was good, DH liked it better than I did, I thought it tasted like baked potato soup.

disneyday3033-1.jpg

DD and I had the mushroom filet. Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb beurre blanc, topped with fried parsnips $27.99

disneyday3032-1.jpg

Seared King Salmon - with sweet corn, edamame succotash, and corn puree with Maple-Ginger Glaze $19.99. My son had this but with none of the “extra junk” on the plate as he would say, he just wanted fish with maple glaze and French fries..he got what he wanted!

disneyday3035-1.jpg

DH had 14 oz. New York Strip Steak - roasted garlic, grape tomato, frisee, and roasted Yukon potatoes, and finished with veal demi glace $26.99

For dessert…ok, My dh is a big hunting he man, and look what he ordered!!
disneyday3039-1.jpg

I got the crème brulee and dd got the sorbet, both were to die for. The best and the smallest crème brulee I’ve ever eaten. DH and DS both ate the moose.
disneyday3038-1.jpg

disneyday3036.jpg

Fat and happy!
This was by far the best dining experience of our week.

We were able to walk the world a bit after our lovely dinner and was able to catch some of SLY and the FAMILY STONE
disneyday3044.jpg

Again we came out of dinner just intime to walk to England and Paris and watch the fireworks. Heaven.
disneyday3050-1.jpg

disneyday3048-1.jpg

We came home full, exhausted, crabby as all get out when what in the world do I behold on my bathroom vanity!? MY VERY FIRST TOWEL...THINGY. WTH is that thingy anyway! LOL. Cute as a peacock (which is what i consider it.)

disneyday3049-2.jpg

Coming up next... Disney day 4..A day off from the parks :) Dinner at Ohana and a few hours at DTD and lunch at Earls.

You are an adorable family... I can't wait to read / see more!

I can not wait to hear more. You planned a wonderful vacation for your family. Pics are great keep them coming :thumbsup2

Alright, you've got my mouth watering now. My son came up while I was reading and saw your husband with the "moose" and says "Mom, I am so getting that". So I guess I need to make some ressies at LeCellier.

Great report :thumbsup2

Oh, I can't wait for more. Yall are just so adorable! Your DD looks JUST like you.

Wow that IS a compliment. Thank you, she is gorgeous :)

I appreciate all of your comments, I had some very dark scary place in me that thought NO ONE would read my trip report! lol!

As everyone who has attempted one knows, they are time consuming, but make me feel like its "not quiiiittteee over yet" :( I'm already threatening to do a return, but hubby wants to do Universal next time instead of disney...well..we'll just see about that jelly bean!

I'm loving your trip report! Can't wait to hear about day 4. :) You have a beautiful family.

Day 4 of our Magical Stay at Disney.

On this day we slept in a bit, not waking up until closer to 8:30 am. My DH and son went to eat at the POR food court, which no pics were taken. My DD and I slept during this.

When they returned my DH wanted to rent a boat and drive thru sassaquala river system and then fish on the dock at POR. DD and I had no interest in this so off we went to DTD.

Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1001.jpg

While walking to the main area where the boats were we snapped a few photos. This resort REALLY is as peacefull as it looks.

CopyofdtddisneyMKday1069.jpg

DTD was really cute and fun. We immediately ate at Earl of Sandwich. Boy was it crowded at it was only 11:15. You know though for the money you couldn’t beat it (even though it was free for us, still under 5.00 for a huge sandwich which some could easily share) we also bought 1.00 bags of chips which for Disney I thought was so cheap.

Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1024.jpg

Original 1762 - fresh roasted beef, cheddar and creamy horseradish sauce . This was wonderful. The roast beef was so tender and just perfect.

Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1022.jpg

The Florentine - grilled chicken, creamed spinach, mushrooms and parmesan cheese, This was fabulous! Sooo good and rich!

Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1023.jpg

This was ok. It was a little dry but had good flavor..oh btw this is bread pudding :)

After lunch DH brought DS to me to spend a bit of time at DTD.
Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1036.jpg

my little big bad wolfe

We went into Goofys Candy shop. He picked out a Carmel Apple to be custom made. That thing was chocked full of yummy cavity filled goodness! LOL

Copy5ofdtddisneymkday1031.jpg

you pick what you want on the apple and they make it for you, not a bad buy. 5 bucks or so.

Copy5ofdtddisneymkday1028.jpg

Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1082.jpg

this thing was as big as his head i swear.

Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1019.jpg

Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1018.jpg

Since we actually HAD NOT eaten at goofys lol, we decided to head over to Ghirardelli’s Ice Cream Shoppe. Ummmm…YUM

Copy5ofdtddisneymkday1037.jpg

Very Berry Sundae - A scoop of premium strawberry cheesecake ice cream smothered with sliced strawberry topping under a layer of blueberry cheesecake ice cream, blueberry topping, whipped cream, our chocolate berry blues and a hand made chocolate dipped waffle roll $6.95
this was good, be prepared it has chunks of cheesecake that i didnt care for to much, it would have been better with vanilla :)

Copy5ofdtddisneymkday1039.jpg

Then it was off to Port Orleans French Quarter for a swim. Cute pool, not fantabulous, but cute. Here I had a really tasty (not strong) tropical pina colada.

Copy5ofdtddisneymkday1047.jpg

Copy5ofdtddisneyMKday1049.jpg

Copy5ofdtddisneymkday1059.jpg

After a nice swim, we head back to POR to get ready for our dinner at Ohana. I’ve been looking forward to this dinner for quite a while and was really excited to get in there and order my Lapu Lapu.

ohana!

Upon arrival we checked in to the hostess desk, where the manager was actually working. I asked him for a window seat overlooking the Castle, and he did say the wait would be 20 minutes. I was fine with that. Our ADR’s were 7:20 so we had tons of time before WISHES.

Heres my opportunity to order my Lapu Lapu. It was good but not as strong as I was previously told it would be. Probably just the difference in bartender. I will say that it doesn’t hold as much “fluid” as it looks like it would. My DD 22 took a big drink and 1/3 was sucked down LOL. At 13.00 a pop I didn’t order another.

Copy2ofdtddisneymkday1083.jpg

Lapu Lapu - Tropical fruit juices and Myers dark rum served in a fresh pineapple topped with Bacardi

Less than 10 minutes of waiting and our table was ready. We had a great seat right by a window. Couldn’t have asked for better.

We did NOT have a good waitress here. She was hurried and absent most of the night. I had to ask other waiters or our manager (who came by to say happy birthday) for refills. Our meat servers were good though and kept us full. We did get refills on chicken wings and potatoes. Our server was so lax that she even charged us for a kid’s meal on our bill, which if I was wanted to be a bad dis’er I could have paid OOP, but instead I had her change it to an adult credit. Ok, that should earn me a spot in heaven right? Hehee

Dinner was good though. I liked the beef, but didn’t try the turkey or pork…pretty much just a beef eater.

The salad was REALLY good, loved the dressing, everyone loved the potatoes and the chips. The shrimp were NOT a big hit as they had legs on them and except for DH who loves shrimp; no one was hungry enough to rip off the legs of our dinner. The rest of us opted for the food that had no appendages.

Copy4ofdtddisneyMKday1085.jpg

Copy4ofdtddisneyMKday1088.jpg

Fried Wontons served with peanut sauce, chimichurri sauce and harissa
Mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing

forgot to take pics of shrimp and wings..dont ask why??

Copy4ofdtddisneyMKday1092.jpg

Copy4ofdtddisneyMKday1087.jpg

Dessert was very good. Not as good as I hoped because of the rave reviews, and possible because our terrible waitress left us with a tiny bit of banana foster sauce that literally had 2 slices of banana in the entire sauce. I was disappointed. Again, she assumed my DS was under 9, he is smallish, and brought him ice-cream with sprinkles, which was actually what he wanted anyway, so that worked out.

dtddisneyMKday1115.jpg

dtddisneyMKday1116.jpg

Wishes started and they piped in the music. It was so noisy, you would think, people would speak in hushed tones, but a party or adults next to us kept on talking really loud not even paying attention to wishes. I understand they are adults and enjoying dinner, but its 10 minutes, and how can you be at
WDW and NOT want to watch wishes if its RIGHT there? LOL, I swear I was confused by that. Anyway, they didn’t dim the lights but you could hear a bit of the music. It was beautiful.

Luckily for us the electric light parade also went by, it was really fun.

My son had THE best time ever doing the Limbo and learning to Hula dance and marching in the parade.

Copy4ofdtddisneymkday1096.jpg
omgosh im embarrassed, he has wing sauce all over his face lol!

Copy4ofdtddisneyMKday1103.jpg

intently learning the hula dance lol

Copy4ofdtddisneymkday1097.jpg

LIMBO BABY!

All in all we enjoyed this meal very much, mostly because of the view and the things for the kids to do. The food was a bit above average. Service not so good.

I defiantly would eat here again though!

After dinner we "Goofed" around at the Poly. Makes you wonder who has put there heads in the hats you buy huh? hehehe

Really nice, thanks for posting
Really enjoying the pictures that go along with the TR, we did Ohana's last year and really enjoyed it and plan to do it again in January.

So do the hats match the personalities?

Great reviews.. We leave in 2 days, can't wait to get back and report on our trip hope our experience is as great as yours.

Hi thanks to everyone who is reading this thing LOL. I'm sure you are more into it then my friends at home will be, seems THEY just do not understand me like you guys do LOL :lmao:

As for the Hats...ohhh yeah! My hubby is NOT goofy that is what made that hat so funny, he is the serious one in the group. I'm a mickey girl, My DD is so a princess and ohhh yeah, DS is stitch! Naughty naughty naughty, but oh so loveable!

What Kind of Camera do you have, Your pictures are so wonderful! :tink:

You're alot like me. I very rarely drink, but when I do, I'm such a light weight. That margarita looked so refreshing and on a really hot day, I'm sure you finished the whooooole thing. I can always tell I'm starting to get drunk because my lips and fingertips start getting numb. Immediately, I know I need to stop drinking. Your description of it hitting you all of a sudden and feeling like quicksand made me roar. On a different note, that school bread looks amazing. That bakery in Norway is very good. Last time I was there I walked in mid-morning and the open-faced ham sandwich they make looked so good I had to have one. I wasn't that hungry, but that was the best version of a ham sandwich that I've ever had. Next time, its a ham sandwich and a school bread chaser for me. Hold the margarita.
