My husband did not know that you could not ask for a microwave like you can a fridge I was thinking is my best option to bring mine from home? What do you recommend?

I recommend that you not bring one. There are microwaves in the food court that anyone can use. Many rooms are on one vent system, and I don't think your neighbors would appreciate the smell of whatever it is you would cook in your micorwave.

If you need one for a medical reason you can speak to their special services. There are only a few resorts that have whatever is needed to use one. I know Boardwalk is one.

If you just want to cook, use whatever is available to all guests. Don't blow the circuit in the rooms to avoid paying for dinner.

Pop Century does not have microwaves for medical reasons. Your best bet is to use the microwave in the food court.

I don't think its even allowed is it? The food court always worked for microwave use for me

I'm don't think there is even room for a microwave, where would you put it?

herc.

Microwaves are not allowed in the rooms at PoP. Most rooms are not wired to stand up to the increased wattage needed for these sorts of devices. There is one for guest use in the food court.

A few months ago someone even wrote and asked and received this answer.

I travel with a toaster, hot water kettle. I bought both at Target for $8.88. I had a coffee pot I left with a fridge swap one year too for the $8.88.

We had bagels, the oddle noodle packs, and reheated in the food court when at the Sports and Movie's.
Poppa Johns delivers, there is a $2 coupon on the Internet. Also great sandwhich and pizza at the mini mart DTD.

I stopped at Walmart and got some cold meat, juice, water, milk, in the deli area there are premade wrap sandwhiches that are great too.
I am about a frugal as they come, I have to be, but would not consider lugging or using a microwave.

Have you used this at Pop? I am afraid by the other post it is not allowed? This is a great site thank you very much!

Per the conversations with Disney Executive offices last fall, they do not allow microwaves in the rooms at Pop.

Microwaves are not allowed in rooms at Pop. Unless you want some very angry neighbors because you blew the electrical for the building, I'd suggest using the ones provided in the food court.

As microwave oven use in hotel rooms go, the rule of thumb is "if it isn't already in your room, don't put one in there"!

The previous posters pretty much spelled-out the reasons "why"...

I say if you can rent one or bring one.... do it. You won't blow a fuse (well... some Diser's might blow a fuse if they see you using it) but you're not going to blow an electrical fuse! People charge wheelchair batteries, plug in refrigerators... etc. Blowing a fuse is not going to be an issue.

I"m assuming you're not going to be cooking gourmet meals with a lot of garlic..... I don't think the smell is going to be an issue either.

The rooms at pop are small..... your biggest issue is going to be finding a place to plug it in. Consider just using the microwaves at the food court.... but if that's not going to work for your family..... then do what you have to do.

It's not allowed..that should be good enough...nobody NEEDS a microwave at POP..the food court is easily accessible to all...here is the phone number for POP ask them yourself

Telephone: 407-938-4000

I agree, just use the food court's microwave. We did popcorn in it a few times. Honestly, I hate to smell food cooking in rooms. A few years back we had some people a few doors down that cooked with really spicy ingredients...not a good smell!

I'm guessing you don't know how much extra wattage/power a microwave sucks?

It's already been established Pop does not allow microwaves in a room ~ for multiple reasons. That's why microwaves are provided in the food court.

The rule is there for a reason. Not for people to just say "eh, the rules don't apply to me, I'm going to do what I want anyway." :headache:

Someone was using a microwave when we stayed a few years ago and it was horrible. We called and complained, it ended up being a few rooms away from us but you could smell everything.
