We need a gift basket thread!

Since we have the Disneyland Cake thread we should start a gift basket thread! Especially considering that Vacation Planning doesn't offer any pictures. If you have purchased a basket from the Disney Dream Makers (Vacation Planning), or somewhere else and had it delivered to your room, please post a picture of the basket!

I have purchased various baskets on previous trips (some of which they no longer offer) and will post them this evening!

I'm curious where you found all these because I have always "heard" about all these wonderful baskets and even seen a few but when I called to see about getting something for our upcoming trip the gal at vacation planning didn't have much that sounded very great for my group. My girls are 10 and 11 and most of the baskets seemed to cater to very young children. They had a lot of toys and such and not really stuff an older "tween" would like. I was hoping for things like maybe some earrings a tee shirt a beach towel some flip flops a mug stuff like that. They didn't have ANYTHING like that. And I was able to get a coffee basket for my husband for his birthday but I won't know what it is like till I get there and I am hoping that it is nice. Instead I opted to do an "inroom" celebration that has some plushes and a hidden mickeys book and I can't remember what all came in it but I know it has a banner about celebrating but I know that she didn't mention half of these things and it seemed VERY limited. I am just wondering is this maybe an old list or did you get this from a different company maybe then vacation planning?

Unfortunately I lost all my old pics on my last PC (which crashed ) but I have purchased the chocolate lovers delight basket and added a cute Minnie plush doll for a little extra. It was for the whole family. I was very pleased with it. It had chocolate bars, pretzels, and various candies in it which we snacked on throughout the trip!

Yea that first link was my old thread... I posted the baskets that I purchased before... I know what mine looked like, but I'd like to see what everyone else has gotten... I order different baskets for the kiddos every trip, but each time it is a crap shoot because Vacation Planning only has a few pictures on their site, and usually not of the ones you want to order.

Honestly it would probably be cheaper to put together your own basket and mail it to your hotel, lol. (for those who are flying in and don't have room to pack!)

Its a current list, as of about 2 weeks ago. I'd been googling and heard about their were options so I emailed Disney directly and received that list from "Delivears"!! So if you like anything on the list, they should be able to do it for you. According to other helpful peops on the site, they will often substitute items for you as well.

See that is what is dissapointing because I have heard about and seen some wonderful things and yet when I called and explained to her what I wanted she acted like they didn't have anything like that. She explained to me what was in some of the baskets and as I said most of them sounded like they were for pretty young kids. She also made it sound like they were what they were and there were no substitutions. I am hoping what I ordered is good but I am bummed that it seems like I got a person that wasn't very knowledgable.

Thats such a pain, I can see why you would be frustrated.

On the plus side, Ive heard the in room celebrations (like youve ordered) are amazing. Have you googled for it? There arent many, but some people have posted pics of the big birthday bash one and the welcome one.

I'd deffo go for that if I could, but we're at a good neighbour hotel - so will have to settle for baskets etc. Fingers crossed for when I ring, based on their lack of helpfulness to you.

Yeah I have seen a few pics of what I "think" I ordered LOL. I think we are getting the in room celebration. She told me we are getting 5 plushes, a banner, a hidden mickeys book and some other things so I think it is like some of the pics I saw. If so that looks pretty neat and I will be happy with that. I honestly though didn't really want to spend quite that much and was hoping just for some indiv baskets for each of my girls but I am pretty excited about what I ordered now that I have seen the pics and think my girls will be really excited!

You know they will build you a custom basket if you want. My son is into "Cars" and they don't have any baskets related to that movie. So I asked them what the options were and was told that they could do anything! For custom baskets they will charge you a $20 shopping fee as well as a $25 basket fee, then what ever amount you want to spend on the merchandise that goes into the basket! The $20 shopping fee is a one time charge so it will cover anything else you are having delivered like embroidered ears etc etc... Another cool thing about doing a custom basket is that if you don't like anything in the basket you can return it to the World of Disney store (or wherever they purchased the stuff from)! They will leave the receipt with the baskets or at the front desk when you check in. For my up coming trip I ordered 3 custom baskets, 2 baskets off the list, as well as 13 embroidered ears. I'll let you know how these turn out.

See that is what I mean. I thought I had heard that you could do that but apparently the person I spoke with was unfamiliar with that policy and she said I could only order what they had. I specifically asked her about getting other things that weren't on her list and she told me that was not possible. So I think I just got someone who didn't know what the heck was going on. I have already ordered my stuff but I am glad to know that this is possible and may try that on a subsquent trip. We are going in two weeks so it is probably not worth trying to cancel and redo it at this late date. But I appreciate you letting me know and I will probably try that next time and "hope" I get someone who knows what the heck is going on! And I would DEF be interested to see your baskets for sure!!
