We must eat too much

I read alot of threads talking about having leftover credits. We never have any leftover. I plan 1 TS, 1 QS and the 1 snack for each day.

Do we just eat too much? or maybe they are on the deluxe plan.

We do the deluxe plan and still run out of credits, lol! With the regular plan, I don't see how people could possibly have left-over credits. Two meals a day would not cut it for us, are people really getting by with just one??? We would be starving!

We do the regular plan and occassionally have a few leftover snacks but not much. First of all - we bring a couple boxes of cereal in our luggage - between that and a half a cinnamon loaf from MS Bakery - that is our breakfast most mornings. Second - I think it is MUCH easier to have 'extra' credits the larger your party is. So if you are 2 adults - much more difficult. This is because as a family with 2 adults and 2 kids - we rarely order 4 CS meals at a time. We will share 2 or 3 (getting large pizza, 2 drinks and 2 desserts at resort food court for 2 CS credits feeds our entire family of 4 for only 2 of our credits). I will also do things like snacks for lunch - split some popcorn, smoothie and muffin or ice cream.

I don't share meals entirely for the reason of stretching credits - mostly it's because if we didn't we would let too much go to waste. We already end up throwing out cookies and those little tins of chocolate cake from the CS desserts by the end of the week.

Lots of reasons to have credits left over. Inadequate planning of meals, changing minds about where and when and what to eat, illness, underestimating the amount of use of a club level lounge, etc. This is where Disney profits from the dining plan. Mickey gets to keep money that was spent for meals that never even got ordered.

Oh yes, we would be starving too! On our vacations, I wake up in the morning planning where we are going to eat lunch and dinner (LOL). Always my favorite part of a trip.

On our last trip we had 4 leftover credits on the deluxe plan because I was ill one night and we did not go to Artist Pointe as planned. That almost killed me ;).

Any extra snack credits we will use in the gift shop before leaving. Candy bars, chips, etc travel well on the ride home.

We do QSDP and normally are one meal short and buy a meal on our last day. In the past we would have 8-12 snacks left but now that it is 1 snack instead of 2 that means we would run short. We are budgeting for extra snacks because we know we will have to buy at least a few.

I never have credits left. Sometimes I end up using my snack credits for bottles of water if I notice that I'm not using enough of them. I know a lot of people probably think that's a waste, but I only get the DP if it is free so I'm not losing anything and it beats paying 2.50 and 3.00 out of pocket for water.

This. We always have left over credits. A meal for each of us is way too much food. If it was just 2 or 3 of us we would probably use all of them, but with a large party it is ALOT of food.

We never have any left over either, whether it's the DDP or QS. This last time we had QS for 4 disney adults and we even shared some meals and bought three kids meals OOP. We always eat three meals a days, though. We just can't survive all morning on a granola bar, dd and I are hypoglycemic.

I think it depends on the age/appetite level of your kids as well. If they are small and/or don't eat much, you can share your meals with them (or have them share with each other) and still have plenty of food. We weren't on DDP last trip, but we shared 2 meals among the 3 of us most of the time.

its our first trip with DDP and im hoping we dont have any left over - too much nice food to eat

We used all of our credits and we did DxDP! That being said, SisIL and her family had 8 credits left on c/o day - her girls eat like birds and split meals or just used snack credits for some fruit.

I had everything planned down to our c/o day when we would go to DtD and get EoS for the plane ride home. We used most of our snacks at Goofy's on that last day. I left with 3 boxes full of goodies - we had a good flight home :p

The trip next week we are doing QSDP. We are going to Universal for one day plus have a couple of TS meals planned so we will see how we do with our credits.

Very easy to have lots of CS credits especially left over as we do 5/6 days off-site at IOA/US/Seaworld etc - leaving us at least 20-24 CS credits to eat during our Disney days along with our daily credits!!

Snack credits are easy as we're going during F&WF and TS meals are used too with no problems :)

My husband and I used all of our credits also. We had the basic DDP (1CS, 1TS, 1S) and used our snack credit for breakfast, had a CS lunch, and a TS dinner. While we used all of our credits, we turned down a lot of desserts and couldn't finish all of our meals. We just felt like we were constantly eating. LOL! I remember having a huge list of treat-type snacks to try and the only two "treats" we tried were a pineapple dole whip float (shared), and a red velvet cupcake at Starring Rolls (I plowed through that puppy!). That was over the course of 8 park days. I think we tend to eat less when we're not at home, just not as hungry I guess even with all of the walking...or maybe it's just that each meal at DW has 10,000 calories in it. lol

I don't get it either. DS and I use every single credit we have. We usually have snacks left over, so we get some goodies from Goofy's to bring home, but our meals are always used. When we did the QSDP we paid for a few TS meals as well. When we did DxDDP we didn't have a problem. Last year on the basic DDP DS and I had to use a couple of my parents' CS credits because they didn't use them by the time we checked out!

Our next trip we are going to sacrifice staying CL to use DxDDP. I'd rather have everything paid in advance.

For us, it depends on how early we arrive, and how late we stay on check out day!

If we get in late, leave early, we don't have time to eat all those meals/snacks! DDP works best for us, when we check in early, and stay late on our last day (which is what we are doing this trip)!

We will likely have snack credits left over, only b/c we get extra full from the desserts (that we normally wouldn't get if paying OOP) so we have little need for snacks.

One mistake that I won't make again is paying OOP for a "cheap" snack (like a 1.99 yogurt) and saving up the snack credits, b/c I don't end up using them and then scramble to buy candy/cookies to take home, etc. No matter how cheap the snack is, I'm using a snack credit this time!!!

Ha! They aren't making that money from us :-) We always do free dining and we have done at least 8 trips with free dining discounts. We always get the basic plan and we haven't ever had meal credits left over - usually just a few snack credits and I will use those in the gift shop before we leave.

I also don't understand why people say it's too much food. I find it just the right amount of food. We usually bring quick breakfast items to eat on the way to the bus stop, eat early CS lunch, mid-afternoon snack and TS dinner. Works great!

We ALWAYS have left over credits. The first year we had 5 CS meals and the nice people at BC used those credits to "pack" us a to go box to take on the road that day driving home. Last year we had 7 CS left and I dropped in the cafe at boardwalk and got sandwiches/snacks to take on the road home. Most of the CS meals are way too much food for just 1 person in our family so we share and end up with leftovers. I also pack zip lock baggies in our backpack to put the desserts in to eat later as we are full after the meal.

Our last trip we had several snacks and CS credits left over. It was really hot and some times we just wanted an ice cream for lunch. We also stayed club level so we had breakfast plus snacks available all day at the hotel. If the kids were in the pool lat afternoon we could grab something to snack on in the lounge and not use a credit.
