We made it, we are at the fort!!!

It was easier than squeezing my big ol backside into the car at the sci fi which was awesome for lunch!

I don't know what it is, but I love the sound of rain on the roof of the camper, it makes me sooooo sleepy!! LOL

Glad the ECV worked out for you. With out them it would not possible for my dad or my grandma to to WDW.

I love love love that sound too! I need to record it to fall asleep to! I'm glad you're having fun! BTW, RRC is tons of fun! You should try it~you never know!

Hi everyone. We just got back from DHS. It didn't start raining until about 6. We never did loose power. My cousin called to tell us hers was out, and that there were tornado watches. But we did everything we wanted except fantasmic :(. We payed $75 to eat at hollywood and vine, to do the dine and dash, but it got rained out (we won't eat there again) We did everything except TT & RRC. We had a little one with us, and dw and I aren't big thrill ride fans.

Park attendance wasn't that bad, little more than we are used to in the fall, but we didn't wait for anything!!

I broke down and got an ecv, OMG why didn't I do that before????? I feel amazing, I am not punching my legs in pain, and almost in tears!!!! I was worried that people would look at me like I was just lazy and fat LOL. But it was fine. But I have to say, when I walk, I am 6'8" and people get out of my way, and I can see over everyone. In the ecv, people just walk right in front of you, and you know those dumb thing don't have brakes!!

We got soaked leaving, and the gc ride from the outpost to the site was a might chilly. We aren't complaining about the site, we have a cart, so I can just ride it to CS.

We are sitting here listening to it rain and drink hot chocolate.

Even a wet rainy cold day at the fort is still fun. And I talked to home and they are expecting more snow!!

Talk to "yins" soon.

John

PS Tomorrow is boardwalk and dtd.

Sounds like a nice day in spite of the rain. Make sure you get your pictures for us at Trail's End :thumbsup2

John, Im glad you decided to get the scooter....man I was worried about ya buddy.

Thanks Rog, I really appreciate the support from all of you. Now I just have to man up and have the surgery!!!!

It stopped raining, dw and ds went to sleep, so I am back on here cruising... and getting sleepy.

We are gonna try to get all the pictures everyone wants :lmao: we will go play tomorrow if it isn't "snowing". I guess we can fill the mug up with hot chocolate tomorrow.

Stop it, Rog! I'm all choked up just reading your post!

I was testing at a power plant in Jacksonville today. We're on the grid down here. I knew that big wire I unplugged probably wasn't a good idea:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Just kidding. I have some friends who were testing at the Riviera Plant in WPB. I gotta find out why this happened. Disney has their own power plant behind MK. Last I heard they have 4 gas turbines. It surprises me they were down too.

Here is a story from local news. But the real story is in the first reader comment.:rolleyes1

That's what I am so excited about - our first trip and being able to watch the kids' reaction!

Back to packing!! Leaving in 2 day s :dance3:

Hey John,

I can't recall how long you said you were going to be at the Fort. I am sneaking in a couple of nights March 6 and 7. Any chance you will still be there???? Maybe join ya'll for a photo on the porch????

I wouldn't take that bet anyday. Just thinking about it chokes me up!! I'm such a sucker and watching my kids have their Disney experience is going to be awesome!! Actually, I was at Disney when I was 12 (I'm 38 now) and Epcot wasn't even built yet. I can only imagine how much it's changed!! So, it's like my first time all over again...especially since my kids have never been! :tink:

You and I are very similar..I didnt go till I was 13(Im 39 now)and Epcot had JUST opened....didnt go back till I had my first 2 daughters...now I cant stop going, the older I get, the more I love it, but these days...its not just the parks....Im quickly learning that Disney has soooo much more to offer than thrills. Ive found a new sanctuary in Ft Wilderness.

My plan is to arrive around noon on Thursday. Maybe after setting up I can make my way over toward your site and see if you are around??? Of course don't wait around or anything, who knows what will really happen. I will have my DD 16 and my DGS 5, and will of course have to confer with them!!

That's awesome Rog!! Whoever said Disney is for kids, has probably never been!! We are tenatively planning to go again in 2 years...right before my daugher hits that 10 year mark and her prices will sky-rocket! :) Just told my hubby last night that the next time we go down to camp I want to stay at FW for 9 days, and do other things besides the parks...although we will do some of those as well. This trip we are only there for 5 days and will only have 1 day at the campground to explore...and part of that day will be taken up horseback riding with my daughter. I'm getting soooooo excited!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

RvUsa we know what you are going through with your knee, DH has had one replaced and has been putting off having the other one done. Our last trip in Jan I came home with a new T-shirt and he got a knee that was twice the size of when we first got down there, and it didn't even have a "Hidden Mickey". He will not use a ECV and I can't bear to see him try to do WDW again even though we  love it, so I have told that stubborn old man that I won't make :surfweb: reservations again until he gets another new knee. Wish us luck we will be pulling for you too.:thumbsup2
