I'm on board too!!! I've enjoyed your TR so far..can't wait to read more and see more pics. The SSR looks amazing!!! Wish we couuld stay there.
Welcome! Thanks for reading! SSR was really pretty and very peaceful.
Your room at SSR is beautiful -- look at all that space!!!
Sorry that Henry was cranky at the tea, but all the food just looks delicious!!! I am thinking that I want to take Chelsea there for her b-day in 2010.
The space in the 1 bedroom was awesome. We took full advantage of it all too.
The food at the tea was soooo good. What a very fun afternoon for you and Chelsea - I bet she will love it! You will be staying at the GF too during that trip, right?
Great updates!!! The more TR's I see, the more I am liking Saratoga. I thought the grounds were beautiful when I walked through in December and now I see that the inside of the rooms are great too. Me likey that tub also!! And a 4 min walk to DTD is awesome!!!
Sorry about the cold... that is disappointing. What is up with FL weather this winter??
SO glad you made it to your tea. I was getting upset as you were talking about the delays. I have that kind of luck too. I can't count the # of shift changes I've seen and also confess to less than charitable thoughts about the
ECV's. Like you, glad that Disney offers that service and that it is such an accessible vacation spot for people with mobility challenges but sometimes you just don't need that delay!
Sorry H was cranky at tea. Paula (IluvCrush) wants me to go to tea w/ her in Sept. I wonder if they'll treat me like a toddler and bring me extra strawberries and cream? That might sell me. That and a glass of champagne.
Anxiously awaiting your next update and the $15 purchase that turns it all around!
The weather was crazy! All the CMs were FREEZING. I felt so bad for them. And all the flowers died, it was kinda sad!
Exactly on the ECV's. The ECV lady on my bus knew I was running late and apologized about the extra delay she caused and I felt soooo bad, but made sure she knew I wasn't upset at her - it's a fact of life! I'm just glad she is able to get around and enjoy the magic! And thankfully we didn't miss it all again. Joe told me later he would have called several times a day until he got an opening for our trip if we missed it.

You are too funny about the strawberries and cream! I bet they will bring you the extra strawberries and cream, AND the champagne for a nice little fee....
The room looks great! I hope to be able to have that much space and a kitchen and sitting area for all my crew some day in the far future. It does make DVC very tempting seeing those pictures. When we did the DVC tour, it was hard to leave the AK Villa model behind without buying in, but we knew Jill and John were planning another baby, so it was just as hard to commit to that money. Waiting won out this time. Maybe DVC will be somewhere in our future.
I'm glad the strawberries and cream worked to make Henry happy. He doesn't pretend, does he? When he didn't like it, he really showed it. He's just not going to be the dainty afternoon tea kind of guy! But when he did like the berries and cream, there was no doubt about how good he thought it was!
I'm glad it worked out for you to go. It will probably be a nice thing to do with girlfriends sometime, too.
I sure hope you are able to do DVC in the future - your crew deserves it, esp with those little ones. I can just see Brooklyn and her future sister in the big AKV tub with bubbles on their heads!
Nope, no pretending from Mr. H! We KNOW when he's not happy (and so do those around us)!
The tea would be a blast with girlfriends or sisters! It's so pretty and girly.
The tea looked wonderful, I am going on a ladies trip mid April, calling today to book the tea, thanks for reporting!
I just love how well you handle Henry, what a great mom you are, lucky Henry.
No problem! Glad the review and pics helped - I hope your tea is nice and relaxing.
And thank you so much on that compliment about being a good Mommy!

It really means a lot to me - thank you! I am the lucky one though, really, Henry is such a great little boy usually and my Joe is an incredible husband.
Brook - I am glad you FINALLY got to "enjoy" the GF Tea! My favorite photo is the one of Henry walking out of the Lounge.
Keep going back... try it at different times and know that you and Joe might have to take turns again. But I agree... it is one of our favorite things to do during our WDW trips.
I look forward to your next updates!
I love that pic of him bolting out to the lounge too - it was just captures the moment!
I really do want to go back and try the tea again - as soon as it was over I said I wanted to do it again in December! Even by myself, Joe and Henry can go do boy things, I'll bring a book or a magazine and enjoy a relaxing tea. Ahhhhh!
Hi Brook! Yay for the tea!! I am so glad you made it! It really is wonderful to go and sit and be pampered! I'm sorry Henry thought the lobby was more exciting (which I can understand from his perspective) but you were wonderful parents making it work for everyone!
Your waitress is different from the one we had. Ours reminded us of Mary Poppins!
She was very proper but sweet.
I had the Buckingham Palace and the strawberries and cream too... wow, it was so good!
We went in the middle of our trip and it almost pained me to stop the parks and slow down and relax but it was exactly what we all needed. Highly recommend the tea to everyone!!
I was SO happy to finally make it, I couldn't stop grinning for several minutes as we got settled and looked over the menu! I can understand why the lobby was so exciting for Henry too - namely the area where they have little Henry sized chairs and TVs showing cartoons.
I was thinking I would want a swan pastry, but I am really glad I went with the strawberries and cream - it ended everything so nicely - esp with a happy baby!
I agree with you about the break from the parks - a perfect little rest.
WOW!!! Your pictures of SSR have me drooling!!! That room would be fabulous for our family and that tub has my name written all over it!!!
The tea looks lovely, even with cranky Henry! I glad you stil got to enjoy it and that you made it in time!
The tub was VERY nice! As was SSR in general, it was really very pretty. The resort is incredibly spread out, but peaceful.
The tea was lovely - even with the cranky little one! We try to look at those sort of things and just take it as it is, and laugh about it. Usually Joe or and I will say something about how we'll never forget it, and that was certainly true!
Was gone a work trip this last week and was so excited to see you'd started a new TR when I finally got back to the DIS after a week away!
Isn't traveling with kids always such an adventure?! And the whole not sleeping well the night before yourself never helps either! But I'm glad you made it there without too much craziness, that you had a great room, and that you made it to the tea by the skin of your teeth!
Welcome back! I hope your trip was good! Glad to see you wandered your way over here to the new TR too.
Yes - traveling with kids is SUCH an adventure. The 209372 bags you need, the curve balls they throw...ah, always seems to make things unforgettable!
Yes, we had a fun, but short meet - unfortunately we both managed to pick the absolutely wrong park for that day...
I am glad to hear that the chocolate is appreciated! We actually had incredible short lines for the rest of the week, Wednesday at the MK Space Mountain was a walk on at 2 pm in the afternoon, as well as Soarin on Thursday evening.
I am really sorry that Henry was sick again, but perhaps the excitement theory is not so wrong. I was like that as a kid: the first night on vacation I was always sick. I think it has something to do with the stomach to be well connected to the nervous system and therefore it might be quite sensitive.
It was a short meet...with those lines it was hard to get on a ride! Thankfully, Joe and I had really good luck for the rest of the day, the tour groups must have been doing the big shows, which we did not do. We barely even saw them for the rest of the day! But that morning/early afternoon was NUTS. ToT later that night, when people were lining up for Fantasmic was 10 minutes. We figured the tour groups were there too. But, more on that later!
I am really glad to hear you had short lines for the rest of the week! That is GREAT. Soarin being a walk on!!!!

Wow!
I could definetly see the excitement and stimulation being enough to work him up - even just our day in Minneapolis was pretty active. We do days similar pretty often, but usually go back home instead of to a strange place. Hopefully the uneasy stomach won't be a trend on all vacations, but for December, I'll just plan for it.
The updates were great as always! The very spread out layout of some DVC resorts has always made me hesitate to stay there. I think SSR looks beautiful, even though the rooms are not really my style (I love the more exotic style at AKL!

), but looking at a map, it just looks so spread out...
Good, that you got your tea, but sorry that Henry did not have fun there. I love the picture of him running off to the lobby

The tea cozy looks great. I have a tea cozy for my tea pot, but it does not look nearly as grand as the one you got in the Tea Room!
SSR was VERY spread out - we didn't even explore the other areas, it was just so much. The style isn't really my taste (or Joe's) either, but it was very beautiful. AKL is much more our thing though-and we do like the sleekness of BLT, but AKL is just warmer and cozier, more "homey". Plus, after staying at SSR, I am much more fond of staying at a resort that is under one roof. Kidani is apart from Jambo, but it's only 2 buildings instead of many, plus Kidanai will have many ammenities, so we won't have to go to the Jambo house. I REALLY look forward to staying there in December!
The tea cozy was so soft and it really kept the tea hot!
Brooke...what a great update and I just love your pics!! WOWZERS!!!
The GF tea looks so wonderful...Paula mentioned ladies she has to convince for her September trip...I know she didn't mean me because I am so SOLD!! And C I'll buy you extra strawberries and cream!!! Your pictures of the tea look so fabulous and I can't wait to do that!!!!!
Sorry Henry was a bit cranky but I'm so excited to find out what made him happy and only for $15.00 hope you bottled it up and took some home with you!!!!
Thanks! We love taking pictures and love our camera, so many more pics coming up!
You will LOVE the tea - and how much fun with girlfriends!! I look forward to reading your report of it in the future!
The $15.00 happy item did come home with us - though, not in a bottle.
loved loved loved your SSR pics!! the room looks wonderful. i've always wanted to stay there for its theme-ing.
and the tea... those little sammies, desserts and teas look so delicious... not sure DH would go though!
can't wait to read more about your trip
SSR is really lovely - everything is relaxed and elegant, yet comfortable. It's not my normal taste, but I did really like it, and so did Joe. And that tub and shower, well, put me in a hut with that and I'll be happy!
I wasn't sure Joe would go for the tea either, but he did, because he knew I wanted to go, and he actually liked it! There were three other tables at the same time as us and 2 of them had at least one man, so he won't be alone!
I'm sooooo glad that you made it to your tea

I was worried when reading your story that you might not make it. Sorry Henry didn't like it, guess he's just not a tea guy.
I was so upset thinking I wouldn't make it - it was a HUGE relief that we did!
Nope, not a tea guy - more of a apple juice/run around play with toys fellow.
Oooh, I am convinced. I am doing the tea!! I have been waiting to get home all day to look at your pictures. Yum! I can't wait.
I'm sorry Henry was so cranky, I can't wait to see what the $15 is!
YAY! I was hoping my notes here and on your PTR would convince you! Really, it is so relaxing and so lady like. The little sugar dish, the tea cups, the cozy...it's fun!! I hope you enjoy it, but I'm pretty certain you will!
Boy, I'm sorry to hear that Henry was cranky during your tea. But I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Definitely try it again sometime. That Sally Lund bread looked awesome! I didn't try it during my tea. But I think that I definitely need to try it next time.
The bread was soooooooooo good. When I do go again (hopefully December!) I will order it again. It was quite a bit of food between the tea, sandwiches, scone, tart, bread and strawberries -but it's all so good, I fully plan to do each course again!
