DS, DDIL and DGS(2yrs) have spent the last week on a wonderful vacation for SSR. Today they were scheduled for a 11am ME back to the airport. They had done resort check for their luggage in prior to that. When they got to the airport at noon their flight was saying delayed till 7, 7:30, 8:30pm on SW. They tried to see if they could go back to Disney on ME instead of staying 8 1/2 hours in the airport with a 2 year old. They were told this was not possible. They took a cab back to SSR . While in the cab on their way back to Disney they got a text from SW about the delay. When they arrived back at SSR they told a CM about their dilema. Next thing the manager came over and gave them vouchers for a cab r/t. He also gave them a $100 credit to get anything they needed ( extra diapers and sunblock) and told them to have a nice lunch. They had an unexpected afternoon at DTD. Although stressful, Disney certainly came though for them. They are now back at the airport and hoping to take off by 8:30pm. By the way SW also gave them $300 vouchers p/p. DS said he would have just rathered they were home now but the compensation was a nice touch to a stressful day.
