For those of you guys following some of the Make a Wish trippers -

One of our Make a Wish kids, Mya, passed away a few hours ago.


This is Mya on her MAW Trip to Disney. This is at Give Kids the World.

The ladies of the Disboards BIG GIVE were able to send Mya BACK to Disney just a month ago.

The DISboards has made a HUGE difference in the life of this family. So a sincere thank you to the leaders around here that keep this site going.

Shardai is a young, now single, Mom who has lost her only child.

I can't imagine the pain of loosing a child, at a really young age. It's amazing how places like GKTW can make kids and their family happy for one or several trips. My condolences to Shardai and her family. At least we know there's one more angel in the sky.

Edited to add that I just looked over Mya's trip report, and I am in tears here at my office desk. My heart goes out to Mya's family and friends and all involved in helping her. Sigh!!!

How very sad. No parent should have to go through a loss of a child. I am glad she got a second trip. The Dis Dads Club on the Disney for Families Board has also adopted GKTW as a charity we support. Our site has only been up a few days but have raised $500 of our $2,000 goal. Wish it could be more.

Rest in peace Mya you are with other angels now.

Maroo, do you know if Mya and her family were at GKTW this past December (during DAP)? She really, really looks like one of the girls who we helped at the ponies section.

I can smile through my tears because of this picture. Look not just at her face, but those adults adoring her. I have no words that are able to comfort them tonight in their grief. Just let them know how many, many people hold them close in prayer in the days ahead. Thank you for sharing with us so that we can remember to be appreciative of every day we have with those we love and mindful of those who lose loved ones.
