I'm feeling a bit cheated hubby and I are off to our happy place tomorrow but my father called earlier today and told me my grandma has died. I won't be able to afford to go to the funeral as it's in Michigan and we live in the UK but I'm feeling horrible about going on my trip tomorrow. Part of me feels the trip is ruined but the other part of me feels this is just what I need right now. I'm not sure what to do and really just needed to vent.

Hello, so sorry to hear your sad news. I am sure your Grandma would want you to have a great time. Think all your happy thoughts of her.
Thinking of you.

 Sorry to hear your news.

I was on holiday when I heard my grandad had died - couldn't get home in time for the funeral. Just take time out when you need it whilst you're away, and go with your feelings, as they will be the right ones for you at the time.

sorry to hear that. i hope you can still have a good holiday

Sorry to hear your sad news, but as others have said no way would your grand mother wanted to upset your holiday plans or expect you to. Go and enjoy yourself it's what she would want you to do.

So sorry to hear your sad news... I'm sure if your grandmother was anything like mine, there was nothing she would want more than for you to have a lovely time and still know that she is in your thoughts.

Sorry ifs its a corny or insensitive suggestion, but my grandmother never got to anything Disney, though I bet she would have loved it (you'd have to be young at heart to have 16 kids!!) so when we went for the first time, I bought a balloon and took some time out on my own to think of her and let it go, like sending a special postcard. Its something I'll be doing each trip and makes me feel as though she's still a part of my 'happy' times. Maybe you could mark it in some way you find is special to you and her...?

Either way, you are in my thoughts and prayers and sending you a  and hoping your trip goes ahead and goes well...
