DD's huge princess birthday party is tomorrow and then we leave for disney. This morning she vomited once and now has a low fever (101). I gave her tylenol and she is napping now. Hopefully its a quick bug. We will watch her tonight and tomorrow morning to see how shes doing, but if she seems better we will continue with our plans. Just in case, any recommendations for medical care while in Kissimmee?

There was just an article about this on another Disney planning site recently. The article mentioned this urgent care place which was nearby:

"Centra Care, which operates many locations around Central Florida and is affiliated with Florida Hospital, has a site close to Downtown Disney. It’s located at 12500 South Apopka Vineland Road (State Road 535), Orlando, FL 32836. It’s open from 8 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. Call 407-934-2273". The article stated Centra Care has a free shuttle service for those without their own transportation and that they take most insurance plans.

Are you staying on site? If so, I understand the CM's at the Disney hotels can be very helpful with information like this if it becomes necessary.

With vomiting and the fact that its hot in Florida right, get her super hydrated, use some pedialyte so she doesn't have a compounding health issue once there.

It sounds viral, so she probably won't need medical attention (if kept hydrated). If I need me kids to get well quickly, I try not to use Tylenol, since fever is the body's way of fighting the infection.

Update: Her fever spiked, we went to the doctor, diagnosed with hand foot and mouth virus. Birthday party cancelled, disney trip postponed. My poor baby has had a rough summer, her leg was in a cast for a bit and now this awful virus on her birthday. I had to cancel our CRT adr, and I know we wont be able to get another so close. I am hoping a couple days' rest and we can just arrive a bit later than we had intended

So sorry you had to cancel the party and postpone the trip. HFM is not fun! My daughter had it last summer and while the the bumps/rash she had showed for a week or so, she was really only feeling out of sorts for a few days, so hopefully you won't have to postpone too long!

So sorry. I had that virus as an adult and it wasn't pleasant (somehow I get the diseases you aren't supposed to get over age 10). It is very contagious and likely came home from school with my DS.

Don't give up on CRT. Keep checking now and while you are there. People do cancel. It may not be the exact time or even meal, but you may still get in. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope for extra pixie dust for your daughter and you guys to have a great time.

I am so sorry you had to postpone, but that was the right thing to do. Keep us posted. Sending you pixie dust!!!

I am so sorry your DD has to deal with this and that you had to cancel your trip. Best wishes in getting everything you need for the postponed trip and in my experience, your postponed trip will be amazing...it was probably postponed for a reason.

I am sorry you had to postpone the trip! Hopefully she gets better soon!!

I'm so sorry! I was really hoping for you that it was just one of those 24 hour virus things. Hope she recovers fast.

Oh wow! So sorry! We had a couple really close calls ourselves before. I hope she recovers fast and you can have your dream vacation!

So sorry she has to go through this. I agree with mjkacmom - fever is the body's way of turning on the immune system so letting it run its course will help her get better quickly. Probiotics are great too as they can help build the immune system up too.

hope you have had also as it can be caught by adults, know a number of daycare worker who have caught from the kids. sorry you have to postpone but at least it happened before you got to WDW not a day or so after you arrived or worse yet if you are flying the day before you are to head home as you not be allowed to board plane
