My DS 7 may have mono! He has to have a blood test tomorrow to find out for sure. I am praying and believing that it is not mono. He has been on antibotics for almost a week with a double ear infection, it is no better and now he has a nasty looking throat. He gets this throat thing a lot and it is always viral, but he is very tired this time so they want to make sure he is ok. Please pray that it is not mono and that he gets better fast. We are really looking forward to this vacation. We even made matching shirts for everyone! Thanks in advance because I know that alot of you will say a prayer for my son!

I just had mono before Thanksgiving....I sure hope that's not what he has. Sending get well vibes to your little one.

Ohhh... I was almost ousted on this board for allowing my daughter who had mono 3 weeks prior to going to Disney actually go. Younger kids get over it a lot faster than older people- she was over it in a week. It was the worst week of my life but its over. Of course you need to watch the whole spleen thing afterwards for a good long while. Which meant she didn't ride anything a pregnant woman couldn't and she spent most of the time in a stroller even though she was 7. Of course you are closer to your departure date than we were obviously but still I hope the little one gets better!

Ok, so my DH took him to get his blood taken and was not able to. They tried twice and it was an awful experience for him and his dad. The nurse just keep trying and his arm looks terrible. Then she yelled at my son and told him he had to stop crying. He is 7 so my husband being a nurse himeself told her she was not trying again. So the dr said that we would just get in another 24 hours and see what happens. If not better then we would go to childrens hospital and have him check out. But thank the lord he is feeling some what better now!

I am sooo sorry that your son is sick and that he had an awful experience with that nurse. I would have gone off on her! Your poor son, I just feel sooo bad for him. My DS6 is just getting over strep throat and last week he had to get a shot for it (he throws up liquid medicine) and he was screaming bloody murder before and during the shot. I felt sooo bad for him b/c he had to be held down for it but I know it hurts and what else can you do but let them scream, there's not enough bribing in the world for it.

I hope that your son continues to get better and that if/when he goes back for the next blood test, it goes super smooth!!! big hugs and pixie dust coming your way!

They never had to to the blood test, thank the lord! He got feeling better with the new antibiotic so I guess it was strep. He is back to school. My youngest son and DH both have the flu now but seem to be in their last day, so if I don't get it we should be fine to leave tomorrow!!! Oh and we don't get all the snow they are calling for her in St. Louis.

good luck if you watched news this morning a couple of schools in st louis have been hit hard with the flu..alton had 26% of its students out with the flu good luck...good luck getting out of st louis as well..although im hoping for like at least 8 inches..almost as good as disney to me...best wishes

Thanks everyone for the prayers.

Yeah if I was not trying to leave on vacation I would be very happy about the snow. At least it is not an ice storm, snow is a little bit easier to get around in.
