We just faxed a contract!

We are finally taking the plunge and buying into DVC. I really didn't think we would do it so soon, but we are buying through the Timeshare Store for 160 pts at $78 at SSR. (We had talked about waiting until the Contemporary DVC is announced, but I've heard the price per point will be higher along with the required number of points so I didn't know if we'd be able to afford it then---- and this just seemed like such a great deal )

Our use year will be June and there are 44 points available currently which I think we will just bank as we are not looking to go again until August 09.

It will take some learning for me as far as how to use our points. We have to go during summers (more than likely) with 2 kids in school. It looks like we will have points left over each year since we were really just planning on booking a studio each year. I guess what I could do is to stay in a studio every other year and bank those remaining points to get maybe a 1-BR the next year...............Or if the points are higher at the rumored Contemporary DVC, I could maybe alternate years between there and SSR.....

Any last words of advice while I'm waiting the next couple of days to make sure we get financed????

I just went throught ROFR - it took about 3 business weeks to find out if Disney passed on it.

I just picked up 175 SSR points with an August UY and went through TSS also.

Just got my closing papers this past Friday and the $ is on it's way back to closing services.

We bought a second contract of 150 at VWL so we can go in early Decembers. We are thinking about the same as you where we would do studios some years and 1BRs others as the banking carries over and gets larger and larger or maybe split our stays between studios and 1BRs. Just the two of us so the studio is fine but like the kitchen and laundry so that we can pack less given the new airline bag charges... Congrats and Welcome Home

I am very excited for you! I love DVC and have only been a member for a month!

I am looking forward to closing on our 150 VWL contract so we can make ressies for Christmas next year, granted, I have to wait til Jan 2009 to even do that!

We used TSS as well for our 160pts @SSR and LOVED THEM seemed to go little slow @ first but was probably just the waiting that made it seem like it did!We closed in March and are already lurking back at there site for a small add on contract
