We just changed our trip!

I just called and switched our reservation from to BWI CL. After reading the post below about refurb at the BWI CL (new TVs, etc) I called the Innkeeper's Club and they told me the refurb is scheduled to be finished July 26. We check-in July 29. So this might turn out to be wonderful (a newly refurbished room, DH will love the bigger TV) or it could be a nightmare! If the refurb gets behind schedule we could get moved to another room in the hotel, maybe the lounge won't even be open, the whole trip could be ruined! LOL (yes I am freaking out slightly)

DH proposed to me during Illuminations when we were staying at the BWI in 1998. So I guess it's fitting we spend our 10 year anniversary at the same resort. Does anyone have pictures of the new BWI model room?

They just really started with the Innkeeper's Inn so I was told. I would assume they will look the same but brighter & with a nicer TV. We are going in September staying in a deluxe room was staying in a Garden Suite but when I call they suggested to switch to a deluxe room or std room on Club level

Yeah the BWI has a better staff and food options. I have stayed at both and BWI is awesome.

They were working on the Garden Suites in April so they must be done by now. If they gave you a date then you should be safe. Disney is known for "meeting and exceeding", so they usually give a cushion when they offer a completion date. I wish I had kept our Christmas reservations we had at the BWI CL but I changed them to the villas instead, which will be wonderful too. Have a blast!!!

Thanks for all the opinions everyone. I was so excited to try YC CL, but once I heard about the refurb at BWI that sold me. We will definitely still do YC/BC again soon... we had a great time there in May. I'll be sure to post lots of pics of the new room design and we'll probably do a live trip report again as well.

I dont think you are making a mistake if that is the resort you prefer to stay at ....me? I prefer the YC...it is our fav resort because it is so nice and quiet and relaxing with great dining choices

Well, I most certainly was not being rude, just expressing my good-natured jealousy! I am sending my first child to college this year, so I'm not sure when my next trip will be....living vicariously through all of you!! I, too, am thinking of trying the BWI on our next trip - we love the Epcot resorts area, and all the talk of refurbishments in the BWI and BC is getting me excited. TigrLvsPooh, I think you are doing the right thing - it's always so nerve racking to try something new when you know how much you already love something else. Looking forward to your full trip report with lots of photos!
