We been dreaming of taking the kids to Disney. Today we took the plunge and booked Pop Century 50's building taking the autotrain from VA. We will be driving from NJ and stopping to vist my sister in VA first.

I can't belive how nervous I am right now. I can't explain it but when we got the confirmation number I wanted to laugh and throw up. LOL:banana:

We are going May 12-19th!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Congratulations! It is a big decision to take a long awaited trip! You've got to invest time, money and energy to do it. However, I believe you'll be sooooo happy when it's all done!

Enjoy the anticipation! I'd love to take the auto train sometime! Have fun!!!!

CONGRATS!!!! I will be staying a POP for the first time in August. I, too, requested the 50s building. I hope you enjoy it!!!

Your going to love it! I can tell you right now that you are going to be hooked and then your going to have that urge where you need to fit WDW in your buget. That's how we were. We went once and now we are hooked. It's an addiction.

Have fun:dance3:. You will love every minute :love:and when you get home you'll be dieing to plan your next trip! Take lots of pictures so you can relive every second after you get back. We go 3/29-4/6! Only 48 days out! To make it even more fun start a count down chart. It really adds to the anticipation for the kids. We started ours at day 50. We had so much fun together making it and my kids are really excited about taking off each Mickey as we work toward departure day. If you look further down on the post there is a thread entitled countdown ideas or something like that and it has some cute ideas for you:goodvibes. I put one on there myself for 10 days to departure and then copied someone else on the Mickey countdown chart. I still plan to do the 10 day count down when we get to that point too;).

I just went onto page 4 of the threads and found the one on the countdowns. It's "Creative Disney countdown ideas" if you're interested.

Thank you!!! I will look at the ideas. That sounds like a great idea. I am getting more and more excited by the second.

I forgot to ask for a non smoking room, DD has asthma. Are the hotels all smoke free? DH thinks they.

They are not all smoke free.

I'm a bit surprised you are going. I know you don't want your children on any transportation without seatbelts, and you won't be able to do Disney without taking some seatbeltless transportation, although you can certainly keep it to a minimum since you are driving.

They are not all non-smoking rooms unfortunately. It shouldn't be a problem to contact D though and request it now though:).

Thanks everyone we can't wait. I just got an email saying our Disney maps are on the way. Perfect planning at it's best.

Now if I could just stop buying summer clothes and save more money for spending down there. Kohls is having great sales. I got DD 2 bathing suits, Little Mermaid and one with princesses on them. Buy one get one free plus I had a 30% employee coupon to use. She loves them!!!!

Congrats! We just got back from our very first trip, and it was totally magical. :cloud9:

I am from NJ too, though we live in MA now. :thumbsup2

You will have a great time. We also stayed in the 50s building last trip (and hopefully this one)and it was perfect!

I am so glad to hear that you liked it! Was it pretty close to everything? How far is it from the parking lot? How about the food court and arcade? What about the pool bar? Important things, I know. :lmao:

We didnt find it far from anything. A short walk (maybe 5min) to the Main Building, which houses the arcade as well. The grounds are so much fun that walks are very enjoyable. Our first night there we walked around the grounds as we arrived late and didnt want to use a park day. DS ran from one place to another! My DH has pics if you want to PM me I'll give you his board name and you can check out the links.
