Didn't you have trouble at philharmagic with Jen one time time too?The sky was overcast, looking like it would rain at any minute. We decided to walk up through the shops, as I wasn't happy with my Vera Bradley Mini Hipster bag, it was too small. We had brought another bag of Marc's but it was too big. Things were getting lost in there. So I went into the Emporium with the hopes of finding a fabulous park bag, I didn't have any luck.
We were hungry. We hadn't eaten much at all, so we decided to stop at Casey's for corn dog nuggets. We decided to split an order of just the corn dog nuggets, no fries or anything like that.
While I was in line, it started to rain. Just call me the rain magnet.I sent Marc outside to find a covered place to sit so we wouldn't get soaked. Luckily, Marc found a table. Yahoo!! We were sitting in tight quarters next to another family and one of the people decided to stand in between the tables which meant we had a lovely backside view while we ate. It was a little annoying since they kept bumping into our table but we tried to not let it bother us. I focused on the awesome piano player playing a Mary Poppins medley.
This is where I realized how slow I eat. It's pathetic. I know it's because of my lapband. I ate maybe three of the nuggets and Marc had the rest. They were so delicious! Yum Yum Yum. I was full and ready to move on. As we were getting up to leave, I notice that Marc is completely soaked in the back, he wasn't under the umbrella all the way! D'oh! It was still raining so I had pulled out my umbrella, I offered a poncho to Marc but he didn't want one. We decided to head to Pirates, there was maybe a 10 minute wait. Really not long at all. We were hoping the rain would be gone but no luck there. Marc decided to pull out the poncho afterall. We decided to head to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for fastpasses for later. I think they were good for after 8:15, and it was about 6:15ish or so at this point.
Then we headed to Liberty Square aka my favorite land in Magic Kingdom. It was still raining but you could tell the sun was trying to break through. We headed for Hall of Presidents with about 5 minutes to spare before the next show. It was the most crowded I have seen the waiting area but I'm sure that is due to the rain.
I love the new Hall of Presidents, it's really great. I became teary eyed again at the 9/11 part.
We emerged from the Hall with no rain! Yay! I was happy, I had visions of downpours our entire trip. We decided to head over to Haunted Mansion which is always a fabulous ride. When we got out the rain was still gone so we headed to Mickey's Philharmagic. I finally got good pictures of the posters!!
We had just missed the start of a show so we had a bit to wait next to an extremely annoying man who kept horsing around and bumping into me. I counted five times, then I told Marc if he bumped into me again I was going to say something. Luckily the doors opened before that happened again. I find things like that so rude. I try my best to avoid bumping into people but always apologize when I do but this man didn't care, nor did he apologize.
As always Mickey's Philharmagic put a huge smile on my face. I love this show, it has so many of the movies I loved as a kid. I always leave with a big smile on my face. We spent some time in the gift shop and then decided to head to Big Thunder to redeem our fastpasses. We took our time and moseyed along and took some pictures now that it had finally stopped raining.
Once we got over to BTMRR we were told it was shut down. Boo!! I looked at Marc and said, "I'm ready to go back to Pop now." I was tired. I knew we wanted to hit up rope drop in the morning so I knew I needed to get some sleep.
We left the park at about 8:40ish. I think we got right on a bus and decided to grab some food to bring back to the room.
Marc had the shrimp lo mein.
We both had cheesecake!
We went to bed fairly early for us 10:30ish or so. We had big plans for the morning!
Coming up...
Marc breaks the rules!
I say, eat slow while you can. As soon as you, ahem, acquiesce to your mother's request, you'll never be able to enjoy a slow meal. I'm sorry that the band gives you trouble though.
Was the lo mein at pop good? Were they out of tye dye cheesecake?
I loved my VB mini-hipster last trip BUT we had a big backpack diaper bag and the underneath bin of the double stroller so that made things infinitely different. This trip I am hoping that we can do the stroller underneath compartment and the regular hipster. Disney needs a store at the front of each park that is just a sensible shoes and better bags store. And maybe they could sell tanks and shorts for those crazy 85 degree January days and sweatshirts for those people who only pack shorts because they think Florida is really Costa Rica. They could call it "what were you thinking?" Because I bet 50% of people want to change their bag and or shoes halfway through the trip.
And, I really hope I get to do Hall of Presidents. I was probably a teenager the last time I did it. I just can't figure out how to get that and American Adventure in with little kids.
