We held the surprise, but can we bear the weather?

Hey, another DisDad TR! :thumbsup2

This is definitely one of the faster moving TRs that I've seen and looks like fun so far. What a great surprise to get a Character Breakfast on the day of.

I have a sudden image of the cartoon opera singers from Bugs Bunny...

My head is spinning from the speed of this report! :scared1: :lmao:

I was thinking more like the episode of the little rascals... "Friends, Romans, Countrymen... lend me your ear!" :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Another great update here! I have NEVER seen a Monsters Inc character before! Great shot of Sulley!! And you got Buzz, too! Sweet!

It's many many years since DW and I did the animation studio... and DD hasn't done it yet. I think 2011 is the year we are going to make it happen. Awesome score on the drawing for DW!! :woohoo:

So after the parade we made our way out of DHS, and headed over to the Contemporary for our dinner at Chef Mickey's. If you read the trip report, you will know that this was Leslie's only request for the entire trip. I was able to secure a 5PM ressie for her birthday, and we were heading back to DHS to see the Osbourne Lights afterward. We got to the podium about 4:20 and there was one lady in front of us. she checked in about 4:30, and then we got called up. Then lady asked for our information, and then asked us if we wanted to be CHEF MICKEY'S FIRST FAMILY!!!!!! Of course we said yes, without even knowing what was going to happen. Granted, not the Magic Kingdom first family, but an awesome treat for my wife on her birthday. We took our picture and then the kids line up at the rope to open at 5.

One of the kids' highlights was being able to sign Mickey's autograph book.

Then our family shot with the Big Cheese!

DSCF9653.jpg

So all in all, Leslie had a pretty good birthday celebration. By the end of the day thought, you can tell the kids were getting tired, so we headed back to our resort. While waiting in line, I hear my name being called, then my wifes, we turned around and about 10 families behind us was a family from the town right next to ours. Strangely, staying in the same resort and being in the same park on the same day. Talk about a small world.

I forgot my flash drive at home, so this will be the last update today. But, we will be heading to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow, so stay tuned...

I will keep her age a secret, even though she doesn't DIS. As she was told by TinkerBell, she is 6 in pixie years, by adding the numbers together.
Dude...you're wife is 15?!? Hmm...let's go with 24 instead. People might talk...:lmao:

Cool! You had the mouse all to yourself? :thumbsup2

Been there. It's amazing how heavy they get when they go limp :sad2:
So all in all, Leslie had a pretty good birthday celebration.
A belated Happy Birthday to you, Leslie!

Everybody now...
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world!

I love your wife's birthday cake. The Villians are my favorite. Did you special order the cake?

Holy cow, you're flying through the updates! I can barely keep up at this pace. I've gotta get down there for the Christmas stuff someday--the Osborne lights look so cool. And I love the fact they had a leg lamp in the window! :rotfl2::lmao:

She is a Villians fanatic. I ordered it through the cake hotline at 407-827-2253. It was $37 with tax. We ended up sharing with lots of people around us. We didnt have a fridge, so it would have been wasted.

Keep on eye open, there should be three more today, barring any unforeseen issues at work.

Whew all caught up. Read right through dinner. :) What a great trip so far.

Thanks for reading!

Today is our first Magic Kingdom day for this trip. We had 8:05 reservations at the Crystal Palace. One of my missions was to get our picture with nobody in the background with the castle.

GUESS WHAT - WE DID IT! Unfortunately by the time, the photographer used our camera, a family had passed by us.

Leslie decided to take a few pictures after we checked in at the Crystal Palace. We ended up being the second family called inside.

After breakfast, we headed toward the Jungle Cruise and Aladdin's Magic Carpets. And then we were first in line to meet Jasmine and Aladdin.

DSCF9684.jpg

There will be more in the next post, including cheering for some locals in the morning parade.

After meeting Aladdin and Jasmine, we made our way around to BTMRR. While on our way, the kids spotted Woody and Jessie, so we got in line.

DSCF9686.jpg

DSCF9687.jpg

And then we heard the prade coming. This performance will always be Magic Music Days to my DW and I. We performed in this parade way back in 1993 with our band, and it was great to see a local HS band come marching toward us.

DSCF9688.jpg

After Kory riding BTMRR in the back row with mommy, he went ride back on in the front row with Daddy. He is an absolute thrill seeker. He loved BTMRR. We then saw Donald is his frontierland garb, so had to grab a picture.

DSCF9692.jpg

We then rode the usual suspects, Peter Pan, Snow White, Small World, and the Carousel. Thanks to the DisBoards, I knew about Cinderellas horse, so Kaylee found it and rode it for the first time. There is a very cute story from our last day at MK, that you will need to stay tuned for.

DSCF9696.jpg

DSCF9695.jpg

After the carousel we saw Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella, so we went to meet them. They had so great interaction with Kory in his Spider-Man shirt. They asked him to not get any more webs around because Cindy doesnt clean well enough already.

DSCF9703.jpg

The kids made some friends while waiting for Philharmagic.

DSCF9705.jpg

We then made our way to ToonTown to find us some Fairies.

We rode the barnstormer, three times in a row, and then proceeded to head out of ToonTown, without seeing the Pricesses. Kaylee was excited to see them at the MVMCP with their Princes. MY DW and kids love the Tea Cups. Me, I DESPISE THEM. I can ride almost anything you put in front of me, run into burning building with no second thought, but keep me away from those vomit traps. So here are a few pics from the area...

DSCF9727.jpg

DSCF9728.jpg

We wer every suprised to see the White Rabbit, which was another first for us. We made our way back over to see Tiana and Naveen before finishing up our day back in Tomorrowland.

Our next update - a 2 week Safari...

When we last left off, we were being thrown out of the Magic Kingdom, due to some fancy-shmancy private party going on. Ah, who am I kidding, we will be going to that same party in just a few days. Today, we had a date with Donald for breakfast. We made our way to the early EMH at Animal Kingdom. When we arrived, we were about 5th in line. We have never seen the opening right out front before, we always had to go to the area near the Tree of Life.

After the show, we made our way over to Tusker House for breakfast. The breakfast was your normal foods, but were very good. The kids defintely want to do this breakfast again. In case I didnt mention it before, they LOVE breakfast and would prefer to use that as a character meal everyday if we could.

When we finished up breakfast, we began making our way around this amazing park. I know it gets mixed reviews, but we absolutely love it here. The animals are amazing, the shows are great, and of course it has EXPEDITION EVEREST! Kory had been talking about it since our reveal, that he wanted to see the Yeti. Kaylee just wanted to see what procedures were going to be happening at the Conservation Station.

We made our way out onto our 2-week safari ans saw a few of these guys...

While we were out there, they were doing yearly physicals on a bird and a kangaroo. I didnt take any pictures, because I was just taking it all in. My wife speaks openly about that fact, that she would love to work in the lab at Disney. Maybe someday honey, maybe someday!

Afterwards we made our way back into the park. We ran into a few more characters on our way over to Everest.

About this time, the calls and texts were flying back and forth between PrattPack and myself. Were we going to pull off my first DisDad Meet?

Stay tuned...

Ahhh the early bird doesn't catch the worm, he gets a great spot for a park opening. Great shots of it. Can't wait to hear about the meet. A late Merry Christmas.

We were making our way around to grab some fastpasses for EE, when I spoke to PrattPack, and were walking toward each other. His family just came off Everest. We made it happen. My First DisDads meet. It was very nice meeting Mark and he showed up with 2 FP's for Everest. So DS Kory, Mark, and Myself made our way into the queue. Mark was almost as excited as I was to be doing Everest with a first timer. Kory LOVED it. Even though he said he didnt want to ride it again. After riding EE. we were able to meet up with Mark;s family.

After riding, we made our way back over to the tiger trail.

Then it was off to Camp Minnie/Mickey to see the FOTLK and some more characters. On our way, we met up with...

DSCF9824.jpg

Kory enjoyed his nap.

DSCF9821.jpg

After the show, we came out and found Guitar Dan making his rounds. Last year, he sang a happy birthday to the kids, and this year they had to get him to sing one to Mommy. I will be uploading my videos this week hopefully. We were then going to make our way around to EE to use our FP's that we collected earlier, when we ran into a few characters.

Once into DinoLand, the kids played for a bit in the Boneyard, and rode Triceratops Spin, but where just a little too short for Primeval Whirl. Maybe next year(hint, hint...). While hanging out there, we realized it was almost parade time, so we madew our way back out to the area of the ToL.We enjoyed some popcorn and a soft pretzel using some snack credits.

Pics of the parade in the next update...

So how is the Crystal Palace breakfast? I hadn't thought of going there that early, but I love the idea of seeing an empty MK in the morning!

The Jersey Shore marching band is from Pennsylvania? :confused3

Nice job meeting up with prattpak...and kudos to your son for conquering Everest!

And you got pictures of the tiger awake! That's not easy, either!

This was our first time doing breakfast, and it was pretty good. The kids loved the chocolate Mickey waffles.

It was definitely worth it to get into the park very early. There was quite a line, so I carried my son and my wife and daughter were practially running to keep up, but we were determined to get our picture.

Yes. Jersey Shore, is a ton in Pennsylvania, located near State College. I don't think that shore could get anymore land-locked in PA. HAHA

Really? Is that an unusual pic? Good thing I didn't take a pic of him relieving himself into the water.

great update jason, hey, tigers on there feet? ususly there laying around. :lmao: again, great pics.:thumbsup2

Wonderful day so far. Had to chuckle at the picture of the kids wqith Pluto. Your DD with her arms in her swaetshirt and that look on her face at him with his paws around her was funny.

Newbie to reading your trip report!!!:cool1:

You are not wasting any time with your TR.....I love that!!!! Was it cold? I am planning a quick getaway there at the end of Jan. I am afraid it will be too cold. YIKES!!!!
