We have to book Be Our Guest when?!?-Sept PTR Updated 8/29

Joining in! I leave the same day you arrive! POR is a beautiful resort-- for a standard room, Acadian House is one of the mansions and very close to a bus stop. It's not too far from the main building, either. We usually stay there and it's pretty weird not to be staying at our "home" again this year!!

If you aren't big eaters, the DDP doesn't really make sense. And if you feel like a sit-down dinner one night that you don't have an ADR, Boatright's at POR often takes walk-ups and I've heard great things about the food.

Joining along! I agree, the dining plan is just not worth it if you aren't big eaters. The room only discounts are usually a great deal as well, sometimes even more so than free dining! Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

Welcome!!!! Im really excited to try a mod resort! and POR has awesome reviews

Ive read that as well....we might check it out, we have most dinners figured out. Dinner is really the only meal i like to have sitting down.

Welcome as well!!!
I used a calculator i found that priced out both options, and room only was the way to go!

So before I get back to the plans…I've got a little real life updates
This past Sunday Joe and I went to the NASCAR race in New Hampshire. I love NASCAR, I grew up on it. I don’t make Joe watch it with me but he goes through it and I'm happy he does :thumbsup2

Also Joe declared Thursdays “Disney Date Night” (DDN) where we watch a Disney movie until we leave! When he told me his plan I was like aww you are a keeper
So far we’ve watched Wall-E and The Lion King---

I'm not sure what we are watching tonight because he keeps it a secret :cloud9:

On with the update!!!

The dreaded travel day…..
We haven’t quite decided if we will stay at his parents the night before or if we are going to just drive to the airport that morning.

I love flying out of a small airport..We will probably be at the airport around 5:30 am check in, get some breakfast and wait for our plane.
The flight leaves at 7:05 am and hopefully on time. We will be arriving at MCO around 10:25 and heading straight to the Magical Express! We will line up in the POR line and hop on a bus and be headed to Disney eeek!

We will hopefully get to the resort around 12:30-1? Go through the online check-in line then with lots of luck be headed to our room without getting lost, maybe?

We wont unpack because our luggage probably will not be there any time soon. We will wear shorts and t-shirts on the plane that way we wont have to change once we get to Disney.

Once we check out the resort/room its off to a park!!!

We’ve decided that first we will hit Epcot for a welcome drink and maybe a quick ride on soarin or test track. From there we will head to MK!! I act like I'm 5 years old when I see the castle for the first time!

Us last year

Our plans are up in the air, I know I want to see New Fantasyland wicked bad, we will take it at an easy pace this day because we will be back for RD one day.

We will probably do the small rides like Peter Pan and Winnie, we missed a couple of things last time that we would like to do first this time.

At 7:35 our first ADR is finally here!!!!! I finally get to eat at…

I can not express how excited I am for this dinner, I already know what I want as long as they don’t change the menu again. I wish we were celebrating something to try “the grey stuff” but maybe one day we will be.

After dinner we will stay in MK for the fireworks and hit the rides that have short line (hopefully). Its open til midnight that day which makes me even more excited but I don’t want to run myself down on the first day since we will be up since 4:30 am but we will see!!

Day 2…Where to go?

Sounds like a great first day! I'm always jealous of the east coasters flights. Ours are 5+ hours and we also lose three hours from the time change :( So unless we fly a red eye our first day really is more of a first night.

So what movie did you watch?

We've been trying to watch the new ones to prepare, haha. So we watched Tangled and Brave.

We have short trips to florida but 5+ to go out west, so we will probably never make it out there! :rotfl2:

We ended up watching Lady and the Tramp

Brave was cute! we enjoyed it. I havent seen Tangled but it looks cute.

I wish we had red eye to florida, to get to disney earlier :rotfl:

I love arriving at Disney and having the whole day ahead of you! I also can't wait to eat at BOG! The menu looks amazing, and the attention to detail in the restaurant is incredible.
Aww, Disney Date Nights are adorable! It's been a long time since I've seen Lady and the Tramp, but we did see Monsters University recently just the two of us and LOVED it!

If there was an earlier flight we would have been on it haha! The way I see it, we are paying for Disney lets get the most of it.

Monsters was so cute! We went and saw that for his birthday, that's what he wanted to do!

I love all the old movies. I certainly appreciate them more then when I was younger.

Hello, hope you don't mind me scurrying around in the background listening in! I'm heading off the 11th of September YAY!!! so good too read a ptr of someone going at the same time as me!! so jelly about BOG!! it looks amazing...

I do not mind at all!!! Welcome!!!!!!

Scotland? OOOOOOO That is on my bucket list of places to go

So Day 2 Sept 10….

These next two days are interchangeable. EPCOT or HS?

Right now its looking like Epcot as it has EMH in the morning.
If that’s the case then we will do breakfast in the hotel, mickey waffles here I come!! After breakfast we will hope the bus and head to Epcot.:drive:

Test track will be first on our list, like many others. We like Soarin but you can only fly over California so many times…..really wish theyd change it out.

Then we will head over towards Soarin, jump in line if it’s not backed up already. If it is we will head to Seas to see nemo and friends
.

This ride will never get old for me as I am a super nemo fan.

At this time, we will probably to test track again if we got FP if not then we will head over to the world showcase and walk around the world, probably with a drink in hand. Hopefully eat lunch somewhere in one of the worlds (just not US).

Drinks in Mexico!

I can’t see this park being an all-day for us, so we will probably go back to the hotel or another park, maybe even DTD.

We want to get the most out of our park hoppers so it will most likely be a park. Id like to go back to MK but who knows. We will go back to the hotel and then head to the park which bus shows up first!!

As for dinner? We don’t have anything planned for this night. Maybe take a boat ride to DTD and go to Planet Hollywood

Day 3! HS and OHANA!!!!!!

Is anyone out there?! I must be talking to myself.......

Today is August 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means ONE MORE MONTH UNTIL DISNEY!!!!

Yeah just a little excited about that :rotfl2:

I ordered our Photopass plus this week and its expected to arrive the 5th, no DME mail yet—

I also got my first sunburn yesterday…painful :sad1:

Day 3!
Hollywood Studios!!
I'm pretty sure my plans for this day are most likely the same as your plans for this day

Get up early, eat breakfast at the hotel. Get to HS as early as we can and wait patiently for RD

Then casually mosey over to TSMM grab a FP then hop on for a ride. Then its either ToT or RnRC.

These three rides are pretty much my favorite and I would ride them over and over again if I could.

After we ride all the major rides, we will probably go to the Great Movie Ride. We didn’t get a chance last year because the wait was like a hour and no thank you!!

After the Movie Ride, we’ll head over to the muppets and things over there.

I love HS but there really isn’t much that interests me so it makes it a very quick day. We have plenty of time to just walk around the park and take in the sights when we are done being crazy Disney people.

Last year HS was only a half day for us, and I have a feeling it will be the same way this year especially since we are going in September.

If it does end up being a half day we will end up going back to the hotel, grab lunch and explore the grounds and have a drink.

Dinner:
I was able to get a 8:10 reservation for OHANA!!!!:banana:
This is a new restaurant for both of us and I didn’t have a clue what it was until I found these boards.

The food looks so delicious and the atmosphere amazes me! I'm looking forward to a Lapu Lapu even if it is 12 bucks! We are on vacation dang it

Depending on what time MK closes that night, I'm hoping to be able to go on the beach and watch the fireworks.

After the fireworks, we will head back and enjoy a night swim!! :beach:

Up next:
Day 4 Chef Mickeys/Thursday Night Football!

Yes, common theme for DHS mornings. I didn't see Star Tours on your list though, and it's a good one, we both really like it :thumbsup2

I definitely want a Lapu Lapu, but I'm not quite sure when I'll get a chance to try it this trip! I will do my best though :yay:

Last time i was went on Star Tours was back in '07. We will probably try it out this year, not sure how the 3d and the motion will sit with me though

Subbing! You'll be at POR right after we leave POFQ. Your plans look great so far :goodvibes

Cheryl

Popping over from my TR! Since we aren't going back for a while, I'll just pretend I'm there with you, OK? :wave2:

Yup, straight to TSMM is the way to go! We never spend more than a half day at DHS either. I really like what I like there-- there's just not a large quantity!
