We are deciding to go into a park December 30 and 31. Should I buy two day tickets, or upgrade the AP’s?

I would go with whichever is cheaper. Keep in mind that the AP upgrade will automatically include hopping, where you have to add hopping to a two day ticket.
Do I call DVC to see how much it costs to upgrade. It’s about $330 for one park a day for those two days.

Last year we only went into MK on the 30th so we bought the day tix, and this year, I want to do EPCOT NYE, like we used to do.

You should be able to see online what the difference is. If you go to the Disney World website, click Parks and Tickets, then click Annual Passes and scroll to the bottom, there are buttons for renewing and for upgrading.

Ok…will go there, thank you!

Are they once again allowing people to upgrade their passes? I believe for a time there were not although that was when they weren't selling any new AP's. You had to stick with what you purchased at your renewal time.

Since all pass levels are on-sale, you should be able to upgrade.

Doesn’t sound worth it. The Incredipass is $430 more than Sorcerer. Plus then you have the hassle of downgrading next year if you don’t want to keep the Incredipass.

Edit : typo

There's a button on the AP section of the WDW site that allows you to Upgrade.

We decided against it. We have theme park studio at BLT, and don’t want the hassle of getting back to the resort.

When we traditionally went to EPCOT, we moved to an Epcot resort for NYE. I had forgotten that bit. Next year, if I can get BWV for NYE, we’ll change the passes.

Thanks for the information!

Smart decision .
Especially when you realized the Upgrade would have been dated from day one of your about to expire pass… Ouch !
